Kumawood actor and ‘Aggressive Show’ host, Kwaku Manu, has recently sat down for an insightful conversation, where he shared the inspiring details of his journey in the entertainment industry, particularly his trailblazing role in the YouTube skit scene.
Kwaku Manu candidly revealed that his venture into YouTube started with a simple desire to build his personal brand rather than immediately focusing on making money.
“When I started posting content on YouTube, I wasn’t thinking about monetization. My goal was to get recognized and establish myself. I wanted to make sure people knew who I was and what I stood for.”

At the onset of his YouTube career, Kwaku Manu’s videos were often short skits that featured his biological brother, Filla Man.
These videos were not just for entertainment but were a means to solidify his presence in a space that was yet to be fully explored by other Ghanaian content creators.
“I didn’t have any money to invest, but I knew the importance of creating content that would speak for me. I just wanted people to watch and appreciate what I was doing.”

Kwaku also took time to reflect on the influences that shaped his early career. According to him, the inspiration behind his work came from his spiritual mother and pastor, Vida.
“I remember one day we were traveling from Kumasi to Accra, and my spiritual mother was with me. During that trip, I wrote my first script, inspired by a concept I came up with on the road. She had always encouraged me to trust my instincts and pursue my creative passion.”

Kwaku Manu Receives Backlash at Mahama’s Inauguration Dinner
Popular Ghanaian actor and comedian, Kwaku Manu caused a stir at the inauguration dinner on January 8, 2025, celebrating John Dramani Mahama’s return to power.
Many Ghanaians were taken aback by his choice of outfit. The actor wore a white T-shirt and red sweatpants, which sharply contrasted with the formal attire of other guests.
The event, held to mark Mahama’s official inauguration as the 6th President of Ghana, saw guests dressed in elegant gowns and suits. Kwaku Manu, however, stood out in his casual wear, raising eyebrows among social media users.
Despite the attention, the actor was unfazed as he interacted with various dignitaries, exchanging smiles and handshakes and engaging in conversations.
Addressing his unconventional outfit, Kwaku Manu explained to KOD, a fellow guest, that he was from somewhere before making a stop at the event.
His explanation seemed to offer some clarity, but it did not stop many from questioning his choice, especially given the formal nature of the event.
The dinner took place after Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony at the Black Star Square in Accra on January 7, 2025.
The event was presided over by Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin, with Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkonoo administering the oath. Alongside Mahama, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang was sworn in as Ghana’s first female vice president.
Moreover, this elegant event was more than just a dinner; it was a jubilant celebration, symbolizing the seamless transition of power from the Nana Addo-led government to the Mahama-led government.
One of the most heartwarming moments of the evening came when President Mahama and his vice were joined on stage by their children.
The family radiated pride and joy as they stood together, embracing the new roles and titles bestowed upon them.
Dressed in simple yet glamorous outfits, the family’s unity and strength were on full display. Their warm smiles and affectionate gestures highlighted the deep, respectful bond they shared, making the moment all the more special.
The night was a perfect blend of celebration and unity, as the Mahama family marked the beginning of a new chapter in Ghana’s leadership while inviting the nation to share in their joy.
