Lil Win Postpones Sunyani Premiere Out of Respect for Deceased

Lil Win and the parents of the deceased three-year-old boy

The premiere of Lil Win’s movie “A Country Called Ghana” in Sunyani has been postponed following the death of a three-year-old boy involved in Lil Win’s accident on May 25.

A statement released by the management of Lil Win, Weezy Empire stated the premiere which was early scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 1, has been postponed in memory of the three-year-old boy who lost his life.

“This difficult decision was made in respect of the memory of the three-year-old boy, Nana Yaw, who unfortunately lost his life in a tragic accident involving our Chief Executive Officer, Kwadwo Nkansah ‘Lil Win’, last Saturday and to join the family in mourning their loss.”

The statement

The statement further stated a new date would later be communicated to patrons who had purchased their tickets for the premiere. Tickets purchased still remain valid and can be used for the new date which will be communicated later.

Weezy Empire further wished a speedy recovery to the father of the deceased who is currently injured with a fractured leg and apologized for “any unintended distress” caused by their earlier statement which was deemed “insensitive” to the bereaved family.

The multifaceted celebrity also urged his fans to pray for him, his manager, and his security detail, who are currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The deceased, Richard Amponsah passed on while receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital same day the accident occurred. He has since been buried by his bereaved family.

Netizens reacted to the statement by Lil Win’s management regarding the loss of Nana Yaw.

“The world hates to see a brother man win. Look how they got glued and interested in the accident more than the movie he promoted for months. Such is life, but God knows best. This too shall surely pass. May God see you all through.”

Management Renders Apology To Accident Victims and Ghanaians

Weezy Empire, the Management of popular Kumawood actor, Lil Win, apologized for its earlier communication responding to claims of neglecting victims of his accident.

The earlier communique released by the Management which rejected the claim described the accusations of neglect of accident victims as “unwarranted” and “distasteful”.

This called for a severe backlash from some Ghanaians who regarded the statement as ‘insensitive’ to the bereaved family and chided the actor for his actions.

But Lil Win and his management upon reflecting on the feedback from Ghanaians have apologized for their earlier statement which responded to the allegations of neglect of victims.

The press release issued on May 29 explained that the previous statement did not seek to cause any distress to the family of the deceased three-year-old boy.

“We also understand that our previous communication may have been perceived as insensitive, and we apologize for any unintended distress caused,” portions of the statement said.

Also, the previous owner of Lil Win’s branded ‘Benz’ involved in an accident over the previous weekend that killed a 3-year-old boy, revealed that the car is an out-of-control, speed demon.

He stated that while using the Benz, he was often getting into trouble with police over its overspeeding tendencies and the fact that the car made too much noise.

The former owner of the car disclosed that when he was giving it to Lil Win, he warned him that due to how fast the car was, it could kill him if he was not careful in driving it around.

His comments turned out to be predictive as Lil Win ended up being involved in an accident in which eyewitnesses claimed he was speeding.
