The award-winning actress, Lydia Forson has commended electorates for showing that they are becoming politically conscious and are gradually understanding the power they weild politically and democratically.
Lydia Forson made this commendation on her Twitter and made it known that she was proud of all those who went out to vote and went on to note that she does not begrudge with those that did not go out to vote because she believes they did it in a form of a protest.
“I’m really proud of how we all voted; even those that didn’t as a form of protest I can respect that even if I don’t agree.
“All I wanted in this election was an electorate that knew their power, and from all indications, we are getting there slowly. The electorate is gradually growing politically conscious and I love it! They’re seeing the power in their vote and even no vote. Ghana is winning!
She further noted that the coming years would see a massive change in Ghana’s Electoral and the democratic system as electorates will hold political leaders accountable for all that they assured them before they earn their vote.
“It will all make sense someday, politicians will have to work twice as hard and actually prove beyond lip service that they deserve our vote. 2024 should be a game-changer” she tweeted.
Most of her fans and followers could not agree with her less as they supported what she tweeted.
“I love Ghana’s Democracy. Its Electorates are one of the most brutal in the world and they take no-nonsense. If this isn’t a Great Democracy in the making then I don’t know what it is.
“I tell you, gradually our democracy is growing. You don’t deliver, you get voted out PERIODT!!!!
“I agree too…it’s no longer my party but the future of Ghana…you work we maintain you, you don’t we kick you out…youth arise.
“You are spot on Sis. We are citizens. We know what we want. We will not be taken for granted”.
However, some people derived other meanings to what she tweeted stating that:
“A lot of codes in this tweet but well.
“Coded tweet (if you know you know).
“Game changer? Already campaigning for 2024 lol”.
Meanwhile, the electorates would not be the only people to receive praise from Lydia Forson as she in recent times commended the Electoral Commission for what she described as a ‘smooth elections’
She reckoned the electoral process to be very swift and further asked her fans to share their experience in this year’s elections on her Instagram page.
