Mr Drew wins big
Nonetheless, Mr. Drew has become a name to reckon with after his song ‘Dw3’ which featured his record Label Mate Krymi and BET award-winning artiste Sarkodie, became a hit. In 2020, he was all over the media space as he gave back-to-back hit songs such as ‘later’, ‘this year’, and ‘Let me know’.
It, therefore, comes as no surprise that he earned five nominations at the 3Music Awards. He saw off competition from the likes of Kofi Jamar, Kweku Flick, Yaw Tog, Dead Peepol, Gyakie, Camidoh, Larusso, Kobby Salm, and Bosom P Young to win the prestigious award for ‘Breakthrough act of the year’. In a recent interview, Mr. Drew congratulated other contenders in the category but was convinced he deserved the award considering his output in the year under review.
“Winning the award is very fulfilling considering the work I did last year and what I’m still doing. The whole of last year was about me with regards to the artist who made a breakthrough in the industry. I was confident about winning the award because people had seen my hard work in the industry, especially having received compliments from other musicians”.
Nonetheless, He has also earned six nominations for the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
