Ghanaian actor, Prince David Osei, has indicated that the ruling government must do better in order to address the challenges faced by Ghanaians.
The award-winning actor noted that he has assessed the work of the current government and he feels they can do better. According to him, even though he supports NPP, he wouldn’t be quiet when affairs of the nation are being mishandled.
“There are only two political parties here in Ghana. I expected more from the vision of Nana Addo. I feel NPP should do better; the President should do better. I needed to speak up otherwise it would make me unreasonable”.

This came just a day after he publicly indicated in a post on Twitter that the government building a National Cathedral “in this hard time is a misplaced priority”.
The entertainer, who campaigned for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the 2020 general elections, expressed his displeasure with the management of the economy under the current regime.

Prince David Osei apologized to Ghanaians for initially rendering support to the building of the National Cathedral by the ruling New Patriotic Party at the expense of government workers.
Replying to a tweet by North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa on the government’s disbursement of 25 million Ghana cedis for the National Cathedral project, Prince David Osei wrote: “Misplaced priorities and self-glory, coupled with greed and insensitivity towards the plight of the masses”.
In another post sighted on the page of Prince David, he called out the President and his party members for turning the country into a place of hell. According to him, he has made enemies for himself because he rendered his support to the party. Therefore, the President should stick to his words and steer the affairs of the country better.
“Mr. President, fellow NPP, and fellow Ghanaians, this is not the 4more4Nana to do more. What is going on? We have to stop pretending in the name of party colors and speak up now! You called me the Ghanaian advocate, hence I am speaking for my people Sir, we are not happy Sir! @nakufoaddo I have defended you and NPP on countless occasions and made a lot of enemies for myself, but Mr. President all is not well in the nation, my confidence in the administration is gradually dissipating as the clock ticks! Nana Show Boy as you are affectionately called, please show yourself that you are capable because the street is hell right now! God bless our motherland”.

Following Prince Osei’s post, renowned journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah, lauded him for backlashing the NPP government for pushing for the construction of the National Cathedral. Nana Aba, in a tweet, expressed her admiration for the actor for calling out the government despite him openly campaigning for the NPP prior to the 2016 general elections.
“I have so much respect for such level of honesty. The fact that he campaigned publicly for this administration doesn’t mean he agrees with insensitive decisions. Integrity is a principle that never fails. Cheers, Prince David”.
