The Ghanaian actress, TV presenter, and music writer, Felicity Ama Agyemang, popularly known as Nana Ama McBrown, has for the first time reacted to her court case with Chairman Wontumi on the United Showbiz.
Speaking on The United Showbiz, the actress and TV show host confirmed that the news that went rife some days ago that she, A Plus, and Mr. Logic were fined ¢60,000 (5,000 penalty units) was correct.
In her talk, she said luckily for them, immediately after the court made a pronouncement about the payment of the fine, they had the strength to be able to make ¢60,000 payment of the fine to the court and 5,000 cedis each to the lawyers.
“It is a lesson we learned. As for me, I am not a troublemaker, if not for United Showbiz, people wouldn’t hear me talk.
“The way we come sit here and make merry and help take someone’s stress and problems away, the same way I can also wrong someone in one way or the other”.
Nana Ama McBrown
She continued to say that firstly, she is thanking the Almighty God, for taking them out of contempt and helping them to make payment of their fine without any struggle.
The TV host advised that people should be careful out there because not everyone might be able to get the money to make the payment if anything should come up like what happened to her and her panelists.
“It is a court case and I did not know. Today I know that there are cases in court that are pending. I won’t be shy to say I will be careful. Because Ghanaians know me not to be a troublemaker and I will never have any issue with anyone.
“Thank God it is a Ghanaian court case and the Lord has acquitted my colleagues and me out of the case”.
Nana Ama McBrown
She explained that the court acquitted Fada Dickson and UTV. Even though they are sad about Afia Schwarzeneggar’s 10 days sentence in jail, that’s what the court demands.
Fadda Dickson’s acquittal was based on the fact that he rendered an official apology to Chairman Wontumi in a letter that was also broadcast on UTV and further published on various social media platforms of the media house.
A Plus reacts to contempt of court ruling
Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus was convicted together with other three individuals for contempt of court after discussing the merits of a defamation suit that was pending in court.
Reacting to the court ruling on his verified Facebook timeline, A Plus compared a similar contempt of court cases that happened under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration.
He said in contemnor under the Mahama administration were made to pay as low as GH3,000 cedis as a fine but under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and his government, contemnor is paying as high as GH65,000 cedis.
A Plus wrote in pidgin saying:
“As they take the money then the white for my eyes inside want turn yellow. Chai!! Immediately then i want write something for Facebook. Wey McBrown say, herh!! Another 65 be that. Gyae!!.
“So if they catch the people wey kill Jesus self like they go pay 65 thousand? This Judge errrrh…..my friend, money before you talk ooo. If e be you like by now your family members dey plan how to sell the cocoa farm to come comot you”.
A Plus
A Plus on the United Showbiz said that he is going to make an appeal on Monday, December 5, 2022, because that is what the court demands when one is not satisfied with an order.
