Award-winning Ghanaian actress, Nana Ama McBrown has publicly revealed how she was deported from the United States of America for the first time.
The actress-cum-TV show host made this revelation whiles speaking with Captain Smart during her unveiling as a co-host of ONUA TV’s Onua Maakye show.
As disclosed by the actress herself, in 2001, she was deported from the US.
Although she did not reveal the reason for her deportation, Nana Ama McBrown disclosed that her return to the country was met with frowns from her family as they tagged her as the “bad luck” child in the family.
The award-winning actress shared that her deportation did not stop her from becoming the big star that she is. She also encouraged anyone with plans of traveling to not give up when it doesn’t go as planned, as it is not the end of their lives.
She used her real-life story to encourage the youths who are currently struggling.

“Captain, January is a month I don’t like at all because things really don’t go as expected for me. I’ve never said this anywhere before but today I’ll say it to inspire somebody.
“My uncle returned from the US and met me as a footballer who had returned from playing at Kwadaso (a suburb of Kumasi). I went to play table tennis after that so when my uncle saw me, he promised to take me abroad. Truthfully I was in America in January but to put it short, I was deported”.

She encouraged:
“So I want to tell whoever is listening to me that if your dream is to travel and if things are not going as expected, that is not the end of your life. God has a plan for you because I didn’t know I would become who I am today if it wasn’t for the deportation”.

Nana Ama McBrown gets a royal welcome as she quits UTV to join Media General
The Ghanaian actress and Television Personality, Nana Ama McBrown officially joined Onua TV as host of the “Onua Maakye” morning show.
Rumors of McBrown parting ways with the Despite Media Group, owners of United Television grew rife on social media after McBrown’s multiple weeks of absence from the screens, even though the reports had been treated as mere speculations.
Upon her arrival at Media General, she was welcomed by ‘adowa’ dancers and drummers who danced with her as they walked the green carpet.
While dancing, Nana Ama McBrown reached out for money from her purse and sprayed them on the skilled dancers.
However, the news about her new station broke on social media in the early hours of Monday.
Her unveiling was done today, March 13 at the TV3 premises.
Top broadcasters at the media outfit, including Berla Mundi, Cookie Tee, Roland Walker, and a lot more came out in their numbers to welcome the new signee and were spotted capturing the memorable moment on their smartphones.
The event was emceed by Captain Smart, the host Onua Maakye, and graced by award-winning gospel musician Opiesie Esther.
According to the post shared by the media general, the screen goddess will be joining the Onua brand under the Media General group.
