Nikki Samonas

Renowned Ghanaian actress, Nikki Samonas has opened up about her distressful life story while growing up as a child.

Nikki clarified that contrary to the assumption that she’s from a wealthy family, she’s been through hardship and torturous moments in life after her father passed away.

“Fortunately for me, I did have a very rich father, he died when I was ten so life took a turn. When he died, it was rough. I was hoping from home to home and most people don’t know that. Very soon I will write a book. I never ever thought, felt, fathomed, dreamed that I would end up in the limelight.”

Opening up about her dream as a young child, Nikki stated she had always wanted to work as a UN Ambassador for refugees.

Fortunately for Nikki, her dream has been fulfilled as she was appointed National Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2020.

“For me, I wanted to work with the UN. That’s the one thing I wanted to do that I have actually seen come to life as the Global UN Ambassador for Refugees. I felt that I am half-caste, I wanted to learn languages and work with the United Nations and eventually, it happened.”

The actress encouraged women to be responsible and build a better future for themselves to avoid over-relying on their male partners.

Nikki explained that it is the responsibility of both genders to raise and take care of a child once they both take part in conceiving the child.

“I don’t see it as a man’s responsibility or a woman’s responsibility. So long as you have produced a child, it is your responsibility. However, if he [the man] decides to leave and he does not take that responsibility or she doesn’t take that responsibility, you have to take the responsibility for both of you. It’s unfortunate.

“We have to come to the reality that life is not all rosy. It doesn’t necessarily mean him leaving, what if he dies? You need to be able to keep in mind that I want to be a responsible woman so I do not rely on the man all the time so I can do something for myself.”

Nikki Samonas

She lamented that overly relying on a man is not a good way to go.

Actress Addresses Recent Tweet

Nikki Samonas stated that she is not being dumped by men like people inferred from her recent tweet.

She revealed that she has a man in her life.

“People might have understood my tweet differently and it blew out of proportion. First of all, no one wants to be dumped. So I should have provided clarity on there is no dumping me, there’s no me dumping you. People felt I was being dumped. Please, I have a boy, I’m not being dumped.”

Nikki Samonas

She indicated that her tweet was just to boost morale on X considering the changing phase in relationships and how women are vocal in relationships in recent times.

The actress disclosed that reactions to her post mainly addressed why men were tired of confronting women and the need for women to be expressive with their feelings.

“The guys were literally hailing me on the app. We also want to feel wanted, loved and approached. In the same way you give us subtle ideas on whether you like us or not that’s the same thing they want. They want us to be enthusiastic about them.”

Mikki Samonas

The actress in a tweet earlier this year stated that there is no dumping her when dating her in 2024, adding that she is too old for being dumped in a relationship.
