Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made a generous donation of N105 million to the Christ Embassy church in Benin, Edo State.

The donation was made during a Sunday service, where the internationally acclaimed artist expressed gratitude for the church’s unwavering support throughout his life and career.

In a heartfelt address to the congregation, Rema emphasized that his gesture was not about seeking recognition but about giving glory to God.

“I’m not here to give myself any accolades or glory. I’m here to give God the glory. I feel like it is important to give back because the church has embraced, prayed for me, and has kept me very consistent with my spirit.”

Rema

Rema outlined the specific allocations of his donation: N40 million is pledged towards the church’s infrastructure, N20 million to the distribution of Rhapsody of Realities, and another N25 million to the infrastructure of the church’s teen ministry, from which he graduated.

“I’m pledging N20 million to widows in church today,” he added.

The singer also took the opportunity to share a deeply personal story about the church’s role in supporting his family after the passing of his father when he was just eight years old.

“When I was eight years old, when I lost my dad, we felt very lost and abandoned. All that we had was taken from us, and we felt very alone. I remember at the time, Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, the pastors of this church, opened a shop for my mum, and that was what she managed to take care of us.”

Rema recounted, highlighting the church’s crucial assistance during a difficult period in his life.

Rema’s donation has sparked widespread admiration on social media, with fans and fellow artists praising his generosity and commitment to his faith.

The act of giving back to the church that supported him in his youth has further endeared the young artist to his fans, solidifying his reputation as not just a musical talent but also a person of deep gratitude and humility.

Ossai Ovie Knocks Rema Over N105M Donation

Ossai Ovie Success, a former aide to the ex-Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, shared his thoughts on Rema’s recent donation of N105 million to the Christ Embassy in Benin, Edo State.

The music sensation, who has been in his hometown of Benin, Edo State, made a generous contribution during a church service.

Rema recounted how the church had supported his family during a challenging period after his father’s passing, providing his mother with a means of livelihood by setting up a shop for her which she used to cater for their needs.

While Ossai Success commends Rema’s kind gesture, he expressed disappointment that the singer hasn’t dedicated his life to God.

He emphasized that donating to the church without being born again may not hold spiritual significance, as God desires a personal relationship with individuals, not just their wealth.

Ossai Success encouraged Rema to surrender his life to God, utilizing his talents and resources for his kingdom’s glory and winning souls.

He stressed that the most valuable offering one can present to God is a life devoted to Him in service and devotion.

Ossai Success hoped that Rema’s donation would be a stepping stone towards a deeper spiritual commitment and that his talents would be used to further God’s kingdom.

“The talents and resources God bestows upon us are meant to be used for His glory and to win souls for His kingdom.
With the kingdom of darkness actively seeking to claim souls, we must utilize every opportunity and gift to bring people to God.

“The most valuable offering we can present to God is our lives, surrendered to Him in devotion and service.
May Rema’s donation be a step towards a deeper spiritual commitment, and may his talents be used to further God’s kingdom.”
