Celebrated Ghanaian actress, Roselyn Ngissah, has announced the passing of her mother, Elizabeth Ngissah, on Monday, April 7, 2025.
The multiple award-winning actress took to social media to share the heartbreaking news, posting a beautiful photo of her late mother along with an emotional tribute.
Madam Elizabeth Ngissah, a woman she describes not only as a caring mother but also a lifelong educator who shaped many lives. “Mummy hmmmm…” her tribute began.
In the social media post, Roselyn Ngissah praised the late Elizabeth Ngissah, who was a teacher for over forty years, for nurturing, guiding, and inspiring generations of students throughout her career.
“To a dedicated educator, a mother to countless students, we pay tribute. For over forty years, you’ve nurtured, guided, and inspired generations of learners. Your unwavering patience, kindness, and generosity have made a lasting impact on the lives of your students. You’ve been a constant source of comfort, a listening ear, and a guiding light.
“Your legacy extends far beyond the classroom, as you’ve helped shape the minds and hearts of those who’ve had the privilege of being your students. We celebrate your selflessness, your passion for teaching, and your enduring commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. You are a true mother to many, and your influence will be felt for years to come. May you rest well, mummy.”

In a separate post on Facebook, Roselyn Ngissah expressed her grief further.
“Thank you for being a good mother. Thank you for being a good educator, not just to me but to many other students. So yesterday when you said you were tired and wanted to rest… hmmmm. This is a forever rest. RIP Mummy.”

The heartfelt posts have since drawn an outpouring of sympathy from colleagues in both Ghana and Nigeria, as well as from fans and friends who flooded her comment section with messages of condolence and support.
Beverly Afaglo, a colleague of Roselyn Ngissah in the movie industry, shared a picture of Mrs. Ngissah and offered her condolence.
