The never-ending work-week can be so tough and tiring and all you need is nice weekend to unwind and come back rejuvenated.

A woman relaxing.

The never-ending work-week can be so tough and tiring and all you need is nice weekend to unwind and come back rejuvenated. However, now that the weekend is here, you have no idea what to do to make the most of your time off. Don’t waste it! After all, a weekend is only two days long and it will pass faster than you know it. To ensure that you get the most out of the glorious gift of the weekend, here is a comprehensive list of what to do on a Saturday or Sunday, no matter where you are or what mood you’re in.

Try a New Recipe

Dedicate the evening to learning a new recipe or whip up an old favorite you haven’t made in a while. Whether you’re alone or with friends, it will feel so worth it to just sit down and enjoy the healthy fruits of your labor.

Try out new places

Even though going out with friends may seem like an obvious, repetitive Saturday night activity, it doesn’t have to feel monotonous. You can make list of places that you haven’t been to in a while or  have been hearing about, or somewhere that you just newly identified in a neighborhood you’ve never walked. Consider picking a funky dive bar, live music venue you’ve been wanting to try in a part of town you don’t typically frequent.

Host a Dinner Party

There are plenty of creative ways to host your friends for an evening that feels like the most exciting event you’ve attended all year. You might want to show off some new culinary skills, cooking a meal from scratch, all on your own. Or even have a game night with your friends bringing in some of their favorite meals to try out.

Do some skin care routine

It’s most important to take a little time for yourself. Treat yourself to a self-care night in, complete with a relaxing bath, a face mask, and a few activities to nurture your inner world. This will give you all the peace you need to enjoy your weekend.

Prune Your Closet

Getting dressed, be it for the outing or a date night, seems like quite a feat, and you’re not quite sure how that can happened. It might have a little challenge with the fact that your wardrobe is exploding and you don’t even like half the things in your closet. The weekend is the perfect time to clear your closet. Take a peek inside your closet to see what you need to get rid of, things that no longer fit or items you’ve only worn once and have been sitting in your wardrobe ever since.

Netflix

This might very well be the most looked out for activity on the list. You might want to do this with some friends around but honestly nothing beats a ‘me time’ Netflix chill moment. You might even want to take a giant bowl of popcorn and some ice-cream with you!

Most importantly, Read a Book!

Sometimes all you want to do is curl up in bed and escape with a good book without having to worry about going to work the next day. Set up a little corner for yourself so that you can truly immerse yourself in what you’re reading without feeling uncomfortable or bothered. Brew a hot beverage, grab a cozy blanket, and yes, leave your phone in the other room. Doing this will not only make you feel relaxed, but will help you acquire more knowledge.

So go ahead, try some of these activities and enjoy your weekend.
