King Promise and Shatta Wale

Ghanaian musician, Shatta Wale, has thrown his weight behind King Promise’s bid for the Artiste of the Year award.

King Promise has been tagged as one of the clear favourites. He is the most nominated among the competitors.

Last year, King Promise lost to Stonebwoy, whose star-studded 5th Dimension album and critically acclaimed stadium concert gave him an edge over King Promise.

This year, both artists are likely to go at each other for the ultimate prize again at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

With Mr Eazi’s endorsement setting the tone, scores of fans have already begun reviewing King Promise’s chances of beating Stonebwoy and other top contenders shortlisted by fans, including Kweku Smoke and Fameye.Expand article logo

The Ghanaian musician had a live TikTok interaction with fans in which he gave them a sneak peek of his lavish lifestyle at home. The musician was in his $2m dream house in East Legon during the live show.

The house is one of his most expensive purchases this year, alongside his brand new dream car, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which he reportedly splashed over 500k to acquire.

In a video, the ‘On God’ hitmaker wearing a red basketball jersey was seen trying shots on a mini court overlooking his garage.

Shatta Wale tried some long shots and dunks and later paused in between his basketball workout to address fans online.

He talked about several topics, including Nigerian sensation VeryDarkMan’s arrest by the country’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Despite the allegations, Shatta Wale rallied behind the controversial viral sensation known for his blunt commentaries and online exposés on societal ills.

“VDM is one patriotic person that I love. He’s real, even though he’s not perfect. Shouts to all the Nigerians protesting for VDM.”
