Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale has opened up about his relationship with his girlfriend, Maali.
The dancehall musician and his partner went public as a couple in 2023 after being spotted in various social media videos. The SM Boss was previously in a long-term relationship with his baby mama, Michy.
After reportedly welcoming their first child recently, Shatta Wale gifted Maali a brand-new Range Rover Velar.
In a conversation, Shatta Wale shared that he considered Maali his “perfect match”.
The dancehall musician said that his partner Maali is a supportive girlfriend who has positively impacted his life since their romantic relationship began.
The SM Boss noted that he sometimes wished he had met his new girlfriend a bit earlier than he did because of her excellent qualities. He said: “Maali is like my perfect match. Sometimes, she makes me feel bad so much when I am talking to her. She is very sweet.”
Shatta Wale said that Maali understood that he truly loved and cared for her even though she was skeptical about his intentions at the beginning of their relationship.
The ‘Killa Ji Mi’ hitmaker said that Maali was exceptional at creating exciting conversations with him.
“She believes I love her. That is the only thing I love about her. She has come to believe so quickly because when I said I even loved her, she did not believe. She knows how to talk. Sometimes, if she can’t even create conversations with me, she sends me texts and tells me she is sorry we haven’t communicated for a while.”

Shatta Wale Criticizes Co-Colleagues in the Industry
Shatta Wale criticized his colleague Black Sherif for his fashion choices.
Shatta Wale shared that he did not understand Black Sherif’s preference for some outfits, even though he was making good strides in terms of fashion.
Comparing the ‘Kilos Milos’ hitmaker to Nigeria’s Asake, the SM Boss said that the latter understood the fashion game and that his outfits are detailed and fit him perfectly, even though they can sometimes be huge.
He also questioned why Black Sherif would purchase his outfits from thrift shops in Kantamanto, Accra.
“With Black Sherif, they are trying for him, but I don’t get some of his outfits. I feel like he is a hip-hop artist. Why would he dress like that? Why? Your details have to be right.”

Shatta Wale noted that artists should brand themselves well to embrace their personalities. He said he would not look great if he wore bigger outfits that did not complement his body.
The ‘My Leve’l coroner added that an artist like King Promise has a good sense of fashion and wears outfits that complement his brand.
Shatta Wale further questioned why he received the blame for Stonebwoy’s actions at the 2019 VGMAs.
The SM boss said that the BHIM Nation boss should have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service and sentenced to prison for pulling out a gun on him at the public event.
Shatta Wale, who recently released his SAFA album, noted that he would have served a jail term if he had pulled out the gun at the 2019 VGMAs instead of Stonebwoy.
The ‘Killa Ji Mi’ hitmaker said he had no bad intentions when he decided to head to the stage. He only wanted to call out the organizers for wasting his time by inviting him and not giving him an award after Stonebwoy’s speech.
The dancehall artist also criticized Sarkodie, claiming that his frequent investment in music videos is a waste.
“Sarkodie has worked so hard that he should be one of the people on the international market, performing like Burna Boy and Wizkid. But you see the work he has put in place, it’s a waste of investment. Because he was just wasting monies he could have used to build malls and filling stations yet he is still not where Wizkid and Burna Boy are.”

He further noted that Sarkodie’s lack of international recognition compared to Burna Boy and Wizkid Stems from his willingness to be used by industry players in Ghana. “After all these efforts, he still can’t compare himself to the likes of those musicians because he is humble and has made himself to be used by that industry player. Artists in Ghana don’t know they are doing business,” he said.
