Ghanaian dancehall artist, Shatta Wale has finally met Vybz Kartel in person as he joined the Jamaican dancehall superstar on stage for his much-anticipated Freedom Street event.
Shatta Wale sang his 2024 big hit ‘On God’ on stage alongside Vybz Kartel, whom he considers an idol.
‘Mansa Musa’ was already among the songs he performed during the show to get the audience grooving on them at Kingston Stadium.
During his entry the singer brought a Ghana flag on stage to signify his roots and where he came from despite being in the leagues of the Caribbean artists.
After his performance, Shatta Wale kneeled before Vybz Kartel and saluted him for allowing him to perform in Jamaica for the first time.
“Daddy I just want to say thank you so much, I’ve not performed in Jamaica before and this is my first time and I’m always wishing and looking forward to perform with you more on stage. Jamaica I love you one love.”

Moreover, Spice, a Jamaican female dancehall star born Grace Latoya Hamilton, reunited with Vybz Kartel after 13 years.
The two reconnected for the first time in over a decade at Vybz Kartel’s Freedom Street Concert, which took place on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the National Stadium in Kingston.
A video released online showed Spice, who cannot wait to see Kartel running enthusiastically towards the performer.
She quickly embraced Kartel, who responded to Spice’s actions by giving him multiple peck kisses on the cheek, showing that they were both waiting for that moment.
Many individuals drooled with the video, expressing their delight at the singers’ gestures.
The relationship between Vybz Kartel and Spice has been fantastic, and it is just a friendship between two dancehall deejays from Portmore City, Jamaica.
Many musical fans and lovers have accused them of having a ‘sexual’ relationship based on their chemistry while collaborating on songs.
From 2014 to 2019, Vybz Kartel and Spice collaborated on several tracks, including Conjugal Visit, Back Way, and Dancehall Romping Shop.
Spice over the years has been celebrating and acknowledging Vybz Kartel’s influence on the dancehall culture.
Since Kartel’s murder conviction in 2014, Spice has represented the World Boss more than any other member of the Gaza, a group of Jamaican artists from Portmore.

Following their linkup, the duo went on to climax the Freedom Street show when Spice joined Kartel on stage to perform together.
Spice wore her signature blue-white costume, while Kartel looked attractive in his suit.
The Dancehall Queen bowed to Kartel on stage after turning her voluptuous backside to him, eliciting a loud cheer from the stadium crowd.
