Sista Afia Reveals Future Plans Beyond Music

Ghanaian musician, Sista Afia, has exposed the nature of some female artistes who do not reciprocate kind gestures.

Sista Afia spoke about her disgust and how a female artist who use her and don’t promote her music. “Don’t ever do shows and call me. They know themselves,” she said.

Apart from that, Sista Afia also shared her stance on female artists not being appreciated in the country.

“I mean I’ll speak for myself, I can’t speak for everyone, but I’ll speak for myself. I see that I work tirelessly; I work more than everyone, especially Adey grind waaa, and I need this thing. I’m somebody that needs it; it’s like without music, there’s no Sista Afia. And when it comes to hardworking female artists, not like I’m blowing my own horns, but it’s facts, it’s there.

“I’ve had shows. where haven’t I been? It’s just that people have not paid attention. I don’t sleep. I sleep like 3 hours and almost 4 hours, then I’m back to business. I hardly sleep. Right now, I feel like it’s time to talk. It’s so sad that people don’t really see the work you put, and that hurts me.”

Sista Afia is now taking steps to change her approach to publicity and branding. She acknowledged that being in the industry has helped her grow, and she’s willing to learn and adapt to make her brand successful.

She currently out with a new song titled ‘Krekete Soja’ featuring Amerado.

The Ghanaian musician opened up about her relationship status, stating that she’s not looking for a relationship at the moment.

Sista Afia mentioned why she’s actively not seeking a relationship.

“I’m not looking… Honestly, I’m not looking for a relationship. I don’t need it for now. I do get approached but I don’t get involved because it takes a lot of things away from me. I mean I turn down a lot of people because I just wanna put myself first. Past relationships didn’t go well for me, so I just want to be by myself.”

According to her, she’s however not ruling out the possibility of meeting someone special.

“I’m not stopping anybody from coming though. When I see that you are the one, then, you are the one. If I know, I have to feel it. Every girl needs that.”

Touching on the issue of signing a 360 deal, she disclosed that she’s grown past that and has built a certain standard for her brand.

“I’d sign a deal and not a label. I’d never sign a 360 whatever. I’d never do that, but I’d want a collaboration, distribution deals, publishing deals, promo deals, anything deals but not signing. I feel like I’ve built myself to some standard where I’m not starting from scratch so why will I need a 360. Unless the deal is good, and it will benefit me.”

The musicians comment underscores her 10years hard work in the industry, her independence in growth and courage to make a name without having sexual affairs.

The musician opened up about her approach to romance, music, and balancing her personal life.

Sista Afia emphasized the importance of separating work from pleasure.

“Oh, never ever. It will never happen to have an affair with my manager. It has never happened at my side. It will never happen. Work is work. I don’t know how to mix work with pleasure. It is very difficult for me. I’ve never tried it though, but I feel like it won’t work.”

She however noted that should a man walk into her life and wants to help her, she’ll gladly accept him.

“I’ve not gotten there because a lot of people think I already have it. That’s the mentality. They don’t even know I need it more than they do.”

The singer further indicated that she doesn’t involve people in her personal things. “You can be close to somebody that I’ve dated for years. You might not even know I’ve dated the person, unless I tell you,” she said.

According to her, she keeps things that are supposed to be private to herself.

Sista Afia also confirmed that she’s signed under her own record label and has a manager.
