It’s been exactly seven years now since popular Ghanaian musician, Castro went missing after he went jet skiing at the Ada Estuary on July 6, 2014. He is now to be declared dead in accordance with the laws of the country.
Before his mysterious disappearance, Castro was counted among the pacesetters in the music industry as he delivered back to back hits. Today we take a look back at some of his hit songs.
- ‘Toffee’- This song which was released in 2004 is an evergreen song which still sounds like it was made just yesterday. This song was a hit and took the air waves when it was released.
2. ‘Srade nam’- This was another major hit song released in 2004. This song was what brought the artist to the limelight.
3. ‘African Girls’- Released in 2010, this song made headlines mainly because it featured Ghanaian top football player, Asamoah Gyan. This song became the song which had to be played at every social gathering. It even had a special dance which became viral not only in Ghana but abroad too.
4. ‘Do the Dance’- This song also featured Asamoah Gyan and K2 . Do the dance is one of Castro songs that will have you fighting the urge to get up on your feet to dance. It is a really catchy dance-song that also has a special dance to it. It can be recalled that several people struggled to do the dance, however with patience it became a very easy task.
5. ‘Odo pa’- Released in 2013, this song featured VGMA song writer of the year, Kofi Kinaata and of course his ‘best friend’, Asamoah Gyan. This song topped the charts and did amazing on the airwaves.
6. ‘Adonai’- Even though this song is not originally for Castro, it caught several music fanatic’s attention. The song which is owned by Sarkodie was released in 2014 and Castro was featured on it. It is one of the last songs that Castro had recorded before mysteriously disappearing.
