Ghanaian musical artist, Wendy Shay has revealed the kind of people she will follow on social media especially on Instagram after unfollowing everyone some few days ago.
According to her in a Facebook live video, she has grown, and realized the mistakes she committed while growing up in the industry as an up-and-coming artist, and she wouldn’t want to repeat the same mistake hence her decision.
Wendy further lamented that most of the people she recently unfollowed, prefer speaking ill of her instead of appreciating her work and craft.
She later disclosed that henceforth, she will only start following her die-hard fans, and any other person who believes and supports her work.
The ‘Uber Driver’ hitmaker, made mention of the likes of Medikal, Shatta Wale, Fella Makafui, Salma Mumin among others as her die-hard fans.
Recounting her entry into the music industry, she revealed that she was not accepted by many and others ignored her which made it difficult for her to breakthrough, but then through the support of her ‘shaygang’, she has now become one of the A-list artists.
“Everybody knows that I had a very hard breakthrough, you know, people didn’t want to pay attention to me, when I entered into this industry. My entry into this industry has been very rough. Everybody knows why. That is why I don’t play with my ‘shaygang’
Wendy also pleaded with her fans to continue to push her to the top as she plans on winning a ‘Grammy’ this year, and she also assured her fans that she is working hard to make sure that their support is worth it.
“This year, I want you guys to help me so that we will go grab the Grammys, because, I know that this year is going be my year and it is already my year. I have been recording every single day, trying to put out something great for you guys and those who love good music”.
The ‘Rufftown’ record artiste also revealed how some people she worked with when she was new in the music industry badmouthed her to some industry players which led to some of them unfollowing her.
Speaking of unfollowing people on Instagram, Wendy Shay later in the video stated her reasons and clarified why she unfollowed Delay and any other person on Instagram.
Setting the record straight, she made it known that it was not because Delay passed a comment about her dressing style that made her unfollow Delay, but it was a conscious decision to unfollow everyone on Instagram as she’s starting afresh on her online activities and therefore cautioned those propagating false rumors to put a stop to it.
She further disclosed that Delay unfollowed her over a year ago before making that comment and if she was being spiteful as people claim, then that should have been a year ago when she realized Delay had unfollowed her.
Terming Delay as ‘Kwahu Oprah Winfrey’, Wendy Shay said she bears no grudge against her even, for the comment that Delay passed against her, and if anything at all she looks up to Delay as a big sister.
