Kanye West has been keeping a relatively low profile in recent weeks, but as a true fashion lover, he stepped out for Balenciaga’s Spring 2023 runway, which took place in New York City for the first time since 2003.
The father of four was photographed alongside Vogue’s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, as well as Offset, who has been wearing the Demna Gvasalia-designed brand alongside his wife, Cardi B, for some time now.

Cameras caught Ye and Offset catching up at the event, sharing smiles and laughs with one another. Both rappers dressed in layers, pairing leather jackets over hoodies and jeans, and of course, Ye was wearing his infamous boots.

The ‘Blood On The Leaves’ rapper, Ye, was seated not far from Wintour and had his camera out to capture the unique designs debuting before him.
Backstage after the finale, ace Balenciaga designer, Demna Gvasalia, spoke about his inspiration and why he chose New York to showcase the new collection.

“This is actually the first time we wanted to go outside of Paris because we’re considered a global brand now, and New York is the first place I ever came to, in America. We worked on the Garde-Robe line for a while and they’re classic clothes – high-quality, very well-made, and with a high price tag on them. And because this is something that is a bit more timeless, for me, it had to be in New York. I see people here with a culture that can perfectly balance upscale tailoring being worn with sneakers. America is a very important market for us, and we’ve been supported from day one in the US”.

Highlights of Balenciaga X Adidas Fashion Show
Following a slew of pitch-black suits and overcoats, the runway switched to an edgy tone with the Balenciaga x Adidas collection.

According to some reports, baggy tracksuits with dropped hemlines, oversized tees and hoodies, football jerseys, denim jackets, jeans, and belted and padded robes came down the runway, a repeat of the brand’s signatures that many have come to expect from the designer, Demna Gvasalia.
However, the only difference in the latest looks as against the former ones was the branding, per reports. The clothes were stamped with the Adidas Trefoil logo alongside with the Balenciaga name, while some clothes had the sportswear brand’s Three Stripes running on the sides of sleeves or trousers.
The models’ faces were obscured by gimp masks which according to the designer, “emphasized the unisex nature of the collaboration”.

Meanwhile, unlike the vibrant Adidas collaboration with Gucci, Balenciaga mostly focused on drab colors with “flashes bright, sporty red, to suit Demna’s moody aesthetic”.

In the accessories department, collectors and fashion enthusiasts were left with so much to covet. According to reports, a Balenciaga ‘Hourglass bag’ was given the Adidas treatment with three white stripes adorning the flap, and the runway showcased an array of massive duffel bags for actual athletic types to take to the gym or bring on their next vacation.

Meanwhile, for most, the star of the show was the white ‘Triple S Sneakers. It is designed with a trio of black stripes, the Balenciaga x Adidas on the heel tab, and striped laces.

Well, judging from the success of Balenciaga x Gucci, it is worth noting that the French fashion brand has another win on its hands with its collaboration with Adidas. Even more so, as its fashion show guests, including Ye, Offset, Megan Thee Stallion, and Pharrell Williams, showed their approval.
