Position Purpose

The Technician will support the assembly, maintenance, and repair of 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers. The role ensures that all vehicles are assembled according to technical specifications and maintained to meet safety, performance, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior technicians to diagnose faults, perform repairs, and ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained to support smooth workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Assembly

  • Assemble 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers in line with technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure all components are correctly fitted and properly tested after assembly.
  • Verify quality standards before vehicles are released from the workshop.
  • Support continuous improvement of assembly processes and efficiency.

Maintenance and Repair

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components.
  • Conduct routine servicing and preventive maintenance checks.
  • Support troubleshooting of performance issues to ensure optimal vehicle operation.

Technical Support

  • Assist senior technicians in complex repair and diagnostic tasks.
  • Follow instructions and technical guidance during repairs and assembly work.
  • Contribute to workshop operations by supporting team-based technical assignments.
  • Participate in technical training and skill development activities.

Tools, Equipment, and Workshop Management

  • Maintain tools, machinery, and workshop equipment in proper working condition.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of technical tools and materials.
  • Report damaged or missing tools and support timely replacement.
  • Keep the workshop environment clean, safe, and organized.

Safety and Compliance

  • Adhere strictly to workplace safety procedures and technical standards.
  • Use protective equipment and follow safety guidelines at all times.
  • Report any safety hazards or risks immediately to supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with operational and technical safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in assembly, repair, or maintenance of 2-wheelers or 3-wheelers.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical repair and workshop operations is required.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems will be an added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to assemble and repair automotive components accurately.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems in small vehicles.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and specifications.
