James Agbey, an operative of the opposition NDC, has issued a warning to party executives who are perceived to be collaborating with the NPP, urging them to be cautious as the NDC is on track to win the 2024 elections.
In a statement released on October 30, 2024, Agbey expressed his alarm over troubling developments in various constituencies, highlighting that these issues could undermine the party’s chances as they inch closer to the December 7 election.
He emphasized the importance of unity and vigilance within the party during this critical period.
“In fact, there are ongoing moves in some constituencies, spearheaded by some of the chairmen, to undermine the parliamentary candidates.
“We are witnessing such ugly situations in Korle Klottey, Dome Kwabenya, Awutu Senya West, and other places”.

He also noted that several constituency executives are currently engaged in negotiations with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), raising concerns about their loyalty to the party.
Agbey emphasized that, as a long-standing operative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), he has traveled extensively across the country.
He indicated that during these tours, he has taken the time to carefully consider numerous complaints raised against certain constituency chairpersons and executives.
According to Agbey, these concerns highlight the need for accountability and integrity within the party as the NDC prepares for the upcoming elections.
He emphasized that their actions—undermining the party and engaging in business dealings with the NPP—constitute a significant violation of the principles of decency, sound judgment, and the constitution of the NDC.
Agbey warned that such anti-party conduct will not go unnoticed, as it threatens the party’s integrity and unity.
He reassured party members that these behaviors are being closely monitored, highlighting the importance of commitment to the party’s values as they move forward in the electoral process.
Agbey Warns of Repercussions for NDC Betrayers
Additionally, James Agbey cautioned that those betraying the NDC will face serious repercussions for their blatant treachery against the party.
He asserted that the NDC is well-positioned to win the 2024 elections and emphasized that they are closely monitoring party executives who are willing to collaborate with the NPP in pursuit of financial and material gains.
Agbey stressed that such actions undermine other party members commitment to the NDC core values.
He called for unity among party members and reiterated that any attempts to prioritize personal profit over party loyalty would not be tolerated.
According to him, the NDC is prepared to hold accountable anyone who undermines its collective efforts as they head into the crucial election period.
“And we will deal ruthlessly with them and nip their actions in the bud. We won’t allow a few elements to derail the party for their personal parochial interest. They will soon be laughing at the wrong side of their mouths.
“Those of us from the operations team will do whatever it takes to restore the NDC’s glory so it can achieve victory on December 7. I have said it before and would like to say it again, it is now or never, to wrestle power from the NPP”.

As a result, Agbey urged all dedicated party members in the NDC to remain steadfast in their commitment and continue to uphold their beliefs.
He emphasized that victory is within the party’s grasp, and the NDC is determined to pursue every possible avenue to ensure success in the upcoming elections.
Agbey made it clear that the party will not rest until His Excellency John Mahama is inaugurated as the next president of the Republic of Ghana.
He called on supporters to unite in their efforts, reinforcing the importance of collective action and unwavering faith in the party’s mission as they work toward achieving their electoral goals.
