Assemblies Are Crying, In Need Of Releases For Development- Patrick Boamah

MP for Okaikwei Central Constituency, Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah

The MP for Okaikwei Central Constituency, Mr. Patrick Yaw Boamah, has stated that the various assemblies in the country are agitated and in need of releases for development.

He said that it is not right that the assemblies have not been paid their common fund for sometime now. He disclosed that he spoke to the MCE of his constituency and realized that the Internally Generated Funds (IGF) of the constituency are bleeding and could not sustain the assemblies.

“They cannot sustain the assemblies, and they cannot undertake major projects that are dear to their hearts in their respective district metropolitan and municipal assemblies.”

Patrick Yaw Boamah

With regards to current economic issues, he stated that GUTA and GRA must see themselves as partners in the revenue drive and not adversaries to sit down and talk about the current challenges. He further stated that the economic management team always met, and it is the expectation of every Ghanaian that they put in place measures to save the currency.

“We are concerned members of our party, and everything that affects the citizens must be of utmost concern to us. Just because we are NPP and we are in government, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t talk about things that affect the country.”

Patrick Yaw Boamah

Mr. Boamah declared that, he alongside other members of the NPP, would not keep quiet about the current issues, and he believes that majority of the members of the NPP are not happy with the current state of the economy.

He urged government to treat this as a matter of urgency and put in place the right measures to restore the value of the currency. He also admitted that it was a good call for the majority to ask for the dismissal of the finance minister and the minister of state.

Ken Ofori Atta is a Disaster to This Country

The MP for Sagnarigu Constituency, A.B.A. Fuseini, disclosed that the minister of finance is a disaster to this country, and he should not be allowed to stay in office for one more day.

He said that the finance minister has shown a legendary level of incompetence and has no business left to make him stay in office. He opined that he was happy about the decision of his colleagues to push for the dismissal of the finance minister.

“All of us are conversant with the damage this man is doing to our economy. Every single day that you leave the finance minister in office, he causes more damage to the economy. The international confidence in the economy is steeping every day.”

A.B.A. Fuseini

He applauded his colleagues and other people who called for the finance minister’s dismissal for having the heart of the nation at hand since the management of the ministry has not brought any good score to the country.

The NPP has other brilliant minds in their party that can replace the finance minister, he asserted.

“I want to say that the NPP has more brilliant materials, there are more brilliant materials in their land. So, are you telling us that if Ken Ofori Atta should fall down today, the NPP cannot get anybody to stand as finance minister?”

A.B.A. Fuseini

Hon. Fuseini said that the finance minister’s negotiations with the IMF were incompetent and he suggested that more competent people be added as members of the team to go and have competent negotiations with the IMF.
