Concerned NDC branch executives of Keta have appealed to the party leadership to ensure a level playing field for all parliamentary aspirants in Keta, in the Volta Region.
The executives sent strong warnings to some aspirants who are allegedly spreading false rumors that Dr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah, an aspirant, does not qualify to contest for the upcoming primaries, insisting that they must immediately stop or face their wrath.
The concerned branch executives noted that their candidate, Dr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah, has been vetted by the vetting committee and must be allowed to have the peace of mind to campaign towards the primaries.
In a press conference, comrade Evans Agbah, noted that the two candidates who are allegedly peddling falsehood against Dr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah – Dr. Kwesi Dzokoto and Kwame Dzidzorli Gakpe have not in any way contributed towards the development of the Keta constituency, and instead of concentrating on their campaign, are rather involved in “childish behavior”.
According to the group, Dr. Kojo Jones Mensah who is highly educated and connected has in just some few months transformed Keta through his developmental projects in Anyako, Lawoshime, Hatorgodor, among many other communities in the Keta Constituency.
Owing to this, the group has entreated the NDC to ensure fairness for aspirants in Keta as they are ready to “die fighting” against the alleged “evil people” destroying the image of Dr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah.
“We appeal to the NDC to ensure a level playing field for all parliamentary aspirants in Keta since this is the only heritage from the founder, Late Jerry John Rawlings. And we are also ready to die fighting against these two evil people and their collaborators who only want to retard development in the constituency.”

Allegations against Kojo Jones
Furthermore, the group alleged that Dr. Dzokoto is in alliance with key NPP government officials and that they will not allow him to visit mayhem, destruction and evil on the Keta constituency.
It equally invoked the gods and ancestral spirits of Keta and the Anlo state to strike anyone dead or infect them with serious health complications when they plan to smear and disqualify “an innocent son of the soil, Dr. Kojo Jones Mensah who is our redeemer”.
“And so, we will not sit down and allow evil to prevail.”
Concerned NDC branch executives of Keta
Meanwhile, the concerned branch executives of Keta Constituency have promised never to involve themselves in any party elections if their preferred candidate, Dr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah, is in anyway disqualified from contesting the NDC primaries in Keta.
It noted that the two aspirants, led by Dr. Kwesi Dzokoto are doing everything possible to make sure that Dr. Kojo Jones Mensah is disqualified to satisfy their selfish interests.
The group stated that allegations that Dr. Kojo Jones Mensah is not qualified to contest for the parliamentary seat are lies and must not be taken serious by the committee. It noted that, Dr. Dzokoto’s petition was to frustrate their candidate because of the fear of Dr. Kojo Jones Mensah winning the primaries.
It will be recalled that Dr. Dzokoto in a letter dated April 7, 2023, appealed to the regional vetting committee against the clearance of Dr. Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah to contest the primaries in the Keta Constituency. Dr. Dzokoto noted that his rival, Kojo Jones Mensah, has not been a member of the party’s branch for the stipulated 4 years duration as it is stated in the party constitution.
According to the appellant, the appeal is necessary as any decision on Dr. Jones Mensah’s eligibility or otherwise may adversely affect, he, Dr. Dzokoto as a candidate in the elections.
