The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that it has dispatched a team to commence investigations into the death of one of its officers named Sarah Adjei in the Eastern Region.
The Service indicated that it has dispatched the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID),;COP Ken Yeboah to spearhead the investigations.
According to a statement by the Police Service signed by the acting Director-General,;Public Affairs of the Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori,;the Police Service stated that the Eastern Regional Police Command has;also confirmed the arrest of two key suspects in relation to the death.
“Furtherance to the release by the Eastern Regional Police Command,;dated 8th August 2021, the public Affairs Directorate National Headquarters would like to affirm that two suspects, namely; Timothy Dampare, (50) a lotto agent and Richard Nimo,;(30) the manager of Misiho Hotel,;have been arrested in connection with the death of Policewoman Lance Corporal Sarah Adjei at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.

The Police Service in the quest to find the truth behind the Lance Corporal’s death is;also asking the public to assist with investigations to help them unravel circumstances that led to the death of the policewoman.

This investigation follows the death of a Police Officer,;Lance Corporal Sarah Adjei,;stationed at Quarter Masters Store of Nkawkaw Divisional Police command who was found dead in a room inside Mishihi Hotel. Also
Report gathered indicates that the Manager of the hotel Richard Nimoh on Saturday, August 7, 2021, reported at Nkawkaw Central Police station that the policewoman booked and lodged at the hotel. She was later found dead in the hotel room at about 7:00 pm.
Police, together with the complainant, proceeded to the scene and found the deceased dressed in a multi-colored straight dress over black underwear with a pair of black slippers and lying dead in a prone position on the floor.
The body was inspected and blood was found outside the nostrils with a swollen right cheek,;a police report said.
A handwritten note was found beside the body which reportedly read, “Dear Mr Timothy Dampare, I told you that I owed people money and you decided to help me and you have been with me in my house for one week now and you have refused to help me. So, if anything happens you have caused it, Mr. Timothy Dampare.”
The body has been conveyed to the Police Hospital morgue in Accra for preservation and autopsy while the investigation continues. The incident is happening less than a week after another Policewoman Constable Sandra Asiedu was allegedly murdered at Damango.
