Mahama to Engage Media Ahead of 2024 Elections

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 general elections, former President John Dramani Mahama is set to hold a pivotal media encounter on Sunday, July 7, 2024.

Joyce Bawah Mogtari Esq., the Spokesperson for the Mahama 2024 Campaign Team, in a statement, indicated that the significant event, scheduled to take place in Accra, marks the beginning of a series of engagements Mr Mahama plans to have with the media in the lead-up to the December 2024 general elections.

“Accra, Ghana – John Dramani Mahama, flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2024 elections, will hold a media encounter on Sunday, July 7, 2024”.

She further stated that the forthcoming media encounter represents former President John Mahama’s steadfast commitment to transparency and open dialogue with the people of Ghana.

According to Mrs Mogtari, the media engagement will also offer a platform for the National Democratic Congress flagbearer and leader to articulate his vision for the future of Ghana and to address pressing issues of national interest.

The Importance of the Media

Highlighting former President John Dramani Mahama’s recognition of the media in democratic governance, Joyce Bawah Mogtari Esq., the Special Aide to the opposition party’s flagbearer noted that Mr Mahama values the importance of media interactions in fostering a well-informed citizenry.

She emphasized that former President John Dramani Mahama’s engagement with the media underscores the critical role that journalists play in the democratic process, ensuring that the electorate is well-informed and able to make educated decisions.

Furthermore, the Spokesperson for the Mahama 2024 Campaign Team, Joyce Bawah Mogtari Esq. recounted that former President John Dramani Mahama is expected to outline his policies and respond to questions from journalists, providing clarity on his plans for economic development, governance, and social welfare.

This encounter according to Mrs Mogtari is anticipated to be the first of many, as Mahama aims to maintain a continuous and open channel of communication with the media and, by extension, the general public.

She added that in the scheduled media engagement, the National Democratic Congress flagbearer for the 2024 general elections will highlight among several things his strategies for tackling economic challenges, improving healthcare and education, and enhancing infrastructure development.

The encounter according to Joyce Bawah Mogtari Esq is also an opportunity for former President John Dramani to differentiate his vision from that of his political opponents, offering voters a clear choice in the upcoming elections.

In addition, Joyce Bawah Mogtari Esq. called on all media houses interested in covering the event to send the details of their reporters and video operators to office@johnmahama.org.

The invitation, she noted underscores the inclusive nature of the encounter, ensuring that a diverse range of media outlets can participate and engage directly with the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama.
