The Director of Communications for the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dennis Miracle Aboagye, has outlined the party’s accomplishments in the Ashanti Region, presenting a strong case as to why the party deserves continued support in the upcoming elections.
He tackled criticisms from former President John Dramani Mahama, refuted claims of neglect, and defended the NPP’s record in the region.
Miracle Aboagye emphasized the dedication of the NPP’s flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to connecting with voters across the country, particularly in the Ashanti Region.
He pointed out that Dr. Bawumia has visited all 276 constituencies across Ghana’s 16 regions.
“He’s not a lazy man,” Miracle Aboagye declared, adding that Dr. Bawumia is determined to campaign until the law mandates a pause.
This, he said, reflects the Vice President’s commitment to winning the elections.
He dismissed claims that Dr. Bawumia’s return to the Ashanti Region was influenced by John Mahama’s presence.
“Whether it’s heat or cold, whatever it takes for Dr. Bawumia to win the elections, we will do it.”

Addressing accusations by John Mahama that the NPP has been unfair to the Ashanti Region, Aboagye countered that the former president’s remarks are baseless and misleading.
“The former president knows the truth but he’s simply decided to do what he does best, misrepresent, lie to the people, and get their votes.”

Miracles Aboagye insisted that no government since 1992 has done as much for the Ashanti Region as the NPP, underlining the party’s significant investments in roads, hospitals, and education.
Achievements in Infrastructure
Miracles Aboagye provided detailed figures to back his claims, highlighting the stark contrast between the NPP’s record and that of the previous NDC government.
“We have done over 2,700 kilometers of roads in the Ashanti Region. [Mahama] did just 331 kilometers. What is he talking about?”

He also pointed out that the NPP has completed several key hospital projects in the region, some of which were left unfinished by the NDC.
“The former president doesn’t have a single hospital that he started and completed for the people of Ashanti.”

Miracle Aboagye delved into specifics across different sectors, contrasting the NPP’s achievements with those of the NDC. He emphasized;
“We’ve completed inner roads, highways, and even cocoa roads,” Aboagye said. He emphasized that the NPP’s achievements in road construction far surpass those of the NDC.
“[the NPP] has completed all six of those projects and commissioned them. Last week President Akufo Addo commissioned about two of these projects. President Akufo Addo as we speak, out of the agenda 111 has sixteen in the Ashanti region, has completed about five of them.’’

The NPP has constructed nearly 700 educational facilities in the Ashanti Region alone, according to Aboagye.
While touting completed projects, Aboagye acknowledged ongoing initiatives such as the Tema Motorway and the Swami Roundabout Interchange are in continuation.
He clarified that delays in these projects are due to the strategic approach of prioritizing inner roads before focusing on interchanges to minimize traffic congestion.
Miracles Aboagye dismissed allegations that the NPP had ignored significant road projects in the Ashanti Region, stressing that the administration had gone above and beyond in delivering on its promises.
According to him, the NPP doesn’t just speak. They provide data, videos, and pictures to back their claims.
He further criticized Mahama for failing to substantiate his accusations with data, stating,
“If you’re going to say the NPP hasn’t been fair, then show us your achievements in comparison. Elections are about comparisons.”

Denis Miracle Aboagye’s statements underscore the NPP’s efforts to cement its legacy in the Ashanti Region.
He highlighted that the people of Ashanti remember what the NPP has done for them. Besides, Elections are about making a choice, and the choice is clear that one party has done more.
His rebuttals and emphasis on data aim to convince voters that the NPP’s record far outweighs the criticisms leveled by the opposition.
