The Energy Minister and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Honorable Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has received massive public endorsement for the New Patriotic Party running mate position for the 2024 general elections.
While the party has granted its flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia some additional time to further his consultations and engagement processes leading to the selection of the running mate, the former Education Minister appears to court public endorsements for his consideration for the position.
The Concerned Youth of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern Region has publicly endorsed the Energy Minister, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh for the running mate position, stressing that the Manhyia South Legislator is the ideal candidate to partner with the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to secure victory for the party in the 2024 general elections.
The group in a press statement after its press conference held in Tamale on Wednesday, December 6 2023 in the Northern Region lauded Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh for his exemplary leadership demonstrated during his tenure as the Minister of Education during the first term of President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party’s administration.
The statement noted that through the remarkable leadership by Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the Minister of Education, he ensured a period of stability within the country’s education sector without any frequent industrial unrest among both teaching and non-teaching staff.
