National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has expressed the party’s preparedness to win the 2024 elections.

According to him, the NDC is through with all the outreach programs it embarked on in all the regions of the country, particularly in the Eastern and Ashanti regions. He indicated that the time is now set for the party to undertake its internal elections in preparation for the 2024 election.

“The NDC is on track; we are on track to rescue our beloved country from the shackles of the incompetent, insensitive, wasteful and reckless Akufo-Addo/Bawumia come December 2024. Since the 2020 elections, we have embarked on a series of activities as a party and those activities have reached their climax as we speak. We are through with the regional retreats we held and the various appraisals and assessments we did of our performance related to the 2020 election.”

Sammy Gyamfi

In highlighting the preparations of the party, Mr Gyamfi noted that the party has currently completed its branch elections with just a few to go in the Ashanti and Eastern regions. With this, he explained that he is hopeful that election will be concluded by the end of this week so that it  can open nominations in constituency elections in the country later this week on the 22nd and 23rd of September.

Additionally, he stated that the NDC envisages to wrap up the process with an election on the 22nd and 23rd of October.

“Even before that constituency election timetable is concluded, we would have opened nominations for regional elections as well. It is our hope that by the 18th of December, we would have concluded with all our internal elections, we would have been through with branch, constituency, regions and national elections.”

Mr Gyamfi emphasized that the party is on track and more importantly, members are actively disseminating the “superior messages” of the NDC to Ghanaians through the various platforms at its disposal. This, he explained, is to demonstrate to the Ghanaian people that the National Democratic Congress is a far better alternative to the “clueless, reckless regime we have on our hands”.

“We are optimistic that come December 2024, majority of the electorates of this country will repose their confidence in us once again so that we can restore this country back to the path of true development and progress…”

Sammy Gyamfi

Commenting on the repetitive nature at which the opposition touts the incumbent party as “incompetent”, Mr Gyamfi highlighted that the party is not just “making up tags for tagging sake”. He revealed that the country is on “autopilot because the President lacks that mental fortitude” to govern the country.

The NDC Communications Officer noted that when the NPP took over the reins of government, this was not the state of the country.

“We call this government incompetent, we call them clueless, we call them reckless, wasteful, insensitive and dishonest because that is who they are.”
