The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Wing has issued a strong condemnation of recent reports of vandalism and unauthorized seizures of state properties following the party’s historic victory in the just-ended general elections.
This statement, signed by the National Youth Organizer, George Opare Addo Esq., underscored the NDC’s commitment to maintaining peace and order during this critical period of transition.
“Some reports allege that these acts are being carried out by members of the NDC. While we have not yet clearly identified these individuals or confirmed their affiliation with the NDC, we unequivocally condemn these actions and urge calm. We call for an immediate end to these senseless and harmful activities”.

The NDC Youth Wing unequivocally denounced the acts, urging all involved to cease these “senseless and harmful activities” immediately.
“Our internal investigations suggest that some instances of vandalism may also be linked to disgruntled members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), frustrated by their electoral defeat and the perceived failures of their leaders”.

However, the NDC National Youth Organizer stressed that no justification exists for such actions, especially at a time when the focus should be on national unity and progress.
A Call for Calm and Responsibility
The National Democratic Congress Youth Wing called on all party members and supporters to uphold the NDC’s reputation as a peaceful and law-abiding organization.
The statement urged members to refrain from engaging in activities that could tarnish the image of the party and derail the transition process. “We must allow the authorities, party leadership and the named transition team to focus on protecting state properties from theft and potential capture by supporters of the outgoing government,” the statement emphasized.
The NDC Youth Wing reaffirmed its commitment to holding individuals accountable for any acts of vandalism, theft, or misappropriation of state resources. The statement warned that lawful measures would be taken against anyone found culpable, regardless of their political affiliation.
“This is a clarion call for a complete and immediate end to these actions. We will take lawful measures against anyone found guilty of stealing or misappropriating state resources, and we will act as soon as possible”.

As the NDC prepares for the leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, the Youth Wing highlighted the responsibility of every member to support the party’s vision for national development.
“Ghanaians have placed their trust in the vision of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, and it is now our responsibility to assist him in achieving his objectives for the country,” the statement added. The NDC Youth Wing’s appeal underscored the need for all political stakeholders to prioritize the nation’s interests during periods of political transition.
By condemning these acts of vandalism and calling for accountability, the NDC has demonstrated its commitment to fostering a peaceful and stable environment for governance.
