The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Honorable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey has outlined the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama’s policies, he intends to embark upon when given the mandates to lead the country in the December 7 polls.
The Honorable Kwetey began, by highlighting Mr Mahama’s commitment to ensure that the media in the country have a very conducive and collaborative atmosphere to operate as the fourth power that, it ought to be, without threats, harassments and assassinations.
According to Mr Kwetey, the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama is committed to ensuring the autonomy of the media by laying the groundwork for a Ghana where voices are heard, and truths prevail.
“Let’s take a moment to reflect on some of the impactful policies outlined by HE John Mahama. In the midst of the current NPP administration, where media freedom is threatened and corruption festers, HE John Mahama’s steadfast commitment to upholding democracy’s cornerstone speaks volumes about his dedication to transparency and accountability”.

The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress further stated that the party’s flagbearer’s comprehensive plan spans among key sectors including information, communications and technology, agriculture, and mining among others.
He asserted that Mr Mahama recognizes the pivotal roles the above sectors play in driving the country’s development and transformation.
He noted that through initiatives aimed at enhancing information, communications and technology infrastructure, the National Democratic Congress flagbearer seeks to ‘narrow’ the use of digital divide, empowering every Ghanaian to thrive in the digital age.
Furthermore, Honorable Fifi Kwetey posited that the next National Democratic Congress administration under former President John Dramani Mahama aims to leverage information, communications and technology uptake and innovation to drive job creation efforts in the country.
Among many initiatives, Mr Kwetey stated that the party’s flagbearer plan to launch a “Digital Jobs Initiative” in partnership with local tech start-ups and businesses, aiming to create at least 300, 000 skilled employment opportunities for young people in the country.
Mr Kwetey further indicated that the National Democratic Congress when elected into power will introduce a “Coding for Employment Programme” to train one million coders with in-demand digital skills for the growing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) ecosystems.
Additionally, the former Member of Parliament for Ketu South stated that the National Democratic Congress intends to establish a ‘FinTech Growth Fund’ with an initial seed capital of $50 million to support indigenous companies in fostering the growth of the digital economy.
NDC To Revitalize Agriculture And Mining
Moreover, Honorable Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress reiterated the party’s flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama’s plans to revitalize agriculture and promote responsible mining practices that would foster inclusive growth and sustainable development in the country.
He emphasized the party’s commitment to add value to Ghana’s cocoa by increasing domestic processing, and also invest in refining the country’s gold before export including pursing the dream of an integrated bauxite and alumina industry.
“Once again, his unwavering commitment to inclusivity shines through. His policies are crafted with every Ghanaian in mind, ensuring that each citizen has the opportunity to prosper and contribute to our collective well-being”.
