NPP Has Not Failed- Gideon Boako

Gideon Boako, spokesperson for Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has explained that it is on the record of the previous two New Patriotic Party governments that the party will win the 2024 general elections.

In order to do this, he has instructed NPP members to stop believing the myth that the party and administration led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia are ineffective.

“Don’t accept that false narrative that the NPP has failed. It is a false narrative as Bawumia said in London. No NPP member must also accept someone saying to them that the NPP has failed. NPP hasn’t failed, it is true that not all that we promised has been fulfilled.”

However, He further stated that throughout Ghana’s political history, no political party has ever kept all of its commitments.

“As for those that think Bawumia and the NPP have failed and our campaign will suffer, we will beg them very respectfully; go and form your own party and stand in its name to contest the election or go independent. None can contest the 2024 elections without the record of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia NPP government and that of the Kufuor government.

“But if you want to badmouth Bawumia in a typical case of giving the dog a bad name to hang it, then we will plead that you found a party and run on the ticket of the party or go independent if you are sacrosanct.”

Bawumia Ready To Take On Mahama Any Day

Dr. Gideon Boako informed Isaac Adongo of Bolgatnaga Central that Dr. Bawumis is willing to debate former President John Dramani Mahama.

Dr Boako says Adongo can go ahead and debate his colleague Members of Parliament, not Dr Bawumia.

Following Isaac Adongo’s assertion that Dr. Bawumia has made no contributions during his six years in power and challenging him to a discussion on the economy, Dr. Gideon Boako made his remarks.

Adongo claimed that the Vice President had switched from discussing the economics to preaching the praises of digitalization, whose foundation he claimed was set by the NDC administration. In contrast to John Dramani Mahama, who established the largest capacity data center, he claimed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia could only dream about digitization in the absence of infrastructure.

The Vice President was then challenged to a public discussion on the state of the economy by the ranking member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee. The days when Dr. Bawumia’s track record was unknown and he was given the benefit of the doubt, according to the NDC lawmaker, are long gone.

However, in response to him, Dr. Gideon Boako said that the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, should compete against John Dramani Mahama while the Minority should confront the Majority.

“He is interested in debating John Mahama and not Adongo. Adongo should go and debate his colleagues in Parliament. Vice President Bawumia is not going to debate Adongo and the Minority. He is going to contest John Mahama. We want to see Mahama come face to face with Vice President Bawumia, let each one of them come and talk about their records in government and debate their performances on the economy. That debate I can assure you, we are ready for.”
