Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen
It could be recalled that on Tuesday night, September 5 2023, Mr. Alan Kyerematen declared his withdrawal from the NPP’s flagbearer election, citing several factors.
He gave several reasons for his choice, including intimidation, violence against a member of his campaign staff, and the way the party allegedly planned the super delegates meeting to favour one candidate over the others.
Mr. Kyerematen claimed that statements made by several influential party members both before and after the elections support his findings.
“After having carefully analysed the results of the said elections, it is absolutely clear to me from events leading to, during and after the elections, that the Special Delegates Conference was strategically and tactically skewed in favour of one particular Aspirant.”

In addition, Mr. Kyerematen emphasized that he was not confident the situation he had mentioned would not continue or even worsen during the election on November 4. As a result, he confirmed that he was honourably withdrawing from the process leading up to the presidential primaries that will take place on November 4, 2023.
The New Patriotic Party is expected to hold its National Delegates Conference on November 4 to elect its flagbearer for the 2024 general elections.
