Bawumia acknowledged the selflessness demonstrated by Dr. Ntumy during his leadership within the Church of Pentecost. Alongside his wife, Samira Bawumia, the Vice President extended sincere condolences to Dr. Ntumy’s immediate family and the entire Church of Pentecost community.

Dr. Ntumy peacefully departed to be with the Lord in the early hours of December 27, 2023. Apostle Obuobi praised Dr. Ntumy as not only a revered man of God but also an inspirational leader. Apostle Dr. Michael Kwabena Ntumy, born on September 22, 1958, and passing away on December 27, 2023, was a Ghanaian Pentecostal televangelist, Apostle, and the fourth Chairman of the Church of Pentecost from 1998 to 2008. Dr. Ntumy’s journey in ministry began as a teacher in Yendi in the 1980s, eventually becoming a Deacon and Elder before answering the call to full-time ministry with the Church of Pentecost at the age of 26.
Known for his resilience, Dr. Ntumy survived various challenges, including being held hostage in rebel territory during the Liberian Civil War in the 1990s. He faced physical assaults, poisoning attempts, and paralysis, leading to his confinement to a wheelchair.
Despite these adversities, he continued to serve the Church in Liberia and Ivory Coast. After completing two terms as Chairman, spanning 10 years, Dr. Ntumy handed over leadership to Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah. His life and legacy are marked by unwavering dedication to his faith and a commitment to spreading the teachings of the Church of Pentecost.
