Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Political Scientist and Acting CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority, has said that if the New Patriotic Party continues in the blame game over their 2024 electoral defeat then they should be ready to live in opposition in perpetuity.
He jabbed the New Patriotic Party over recent allegations against him by attributing the party’s 2024 defeat as his [Gyampo] orchestration.
He described the accusations as “senseless lies” aimed at tarnishing his reputation in the aftermath of the 2024 elections.
” Within the circles of the NPP, a meeting was held and a resolution was passed. That I, Ransford Gyampo, am the one who caused their electoral defeats in the 2024 elections. And so their response to me is that there should be several attacks and publications of bad news, false news, and propaganda against me.”

Gyampo asserted that this campaign has led to the circulation of unfounded claims about his conduct, but he remains unfazed by the attacks. He charged;
“None of these lies, you know, is true. Number one, I’ve not gone to buy any massaging chairs. Number two, I’ve not sacked any 30 people who were recruited between 2017 and 2023. I’ve not done any of this.”

He reassured the public of his integrity and commitment to the responsibilities entrusted to him by President John Mahama and the Ghanaian people.
“I cherish the confidence that President Mahama reposed in me, and I cherish the confidence that a lot of teeming Ghanaians have in me. And I assure them that I am smarter than the naysayers. And so, I will not do anything untoward to undermine the confidence that President Mahama reposed on me. And then I’ll not do anything that will make Ghanaians disappointed.”

Gyampo was forthright in describing his critics within the NPP as anonymous figures hiding behind false narratives to discredit him. He labeled them as “faceless cowards” still struggling to accept the party’s electoral loss.
He drew comparisons to past political communicators, contrasting their approaches to the current tactics employed by his detractors.
“Now see, when Fifi Quartey was the propaganda secretary of the NDC, a lot of people in the NPP didn’t like it. But upon sober introspection, if you cast your mind back, you see that this man went about setting the record straight with wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge. The kind of propaganda that is being done today by the NPP only goes to show the level of intelligence that they have. People who claim to go to school and didn’t learn anything.”
“How can my views reflect the entire decision of the good people of Ghana? So let me say that if I, a small man like me, if I am powerful enough to push an entire government that has entire state machinery at its disposal, that has all the resources at its disposal… If I am powerful enough to push them out of government, then I should be super powerful to maintain them in opposition in perpetuity. Because now they don’t have money, now they don’t have power. And so, the battle line is drawn. We’ll keep you in opposition in perpetuity.”

Boot for Boot, Political Controversy
Although Gyampo stated that he prefers to focus on his work, he warned that he will not hesitate to respond forcefully when necessary.
“I don’t like to fight. But I don’t hate to fight. Some of them have come to me to beg me, saying, ‘Focus on your work and forget about NPP.’ I will do so, but I’m telling you that I am not your regular professor. I am not your regular CEO. I can be calm, I can be gentle, but I can also be unconventional. And so, I’ll meet them boot for boot.”
“Those who know next to nothing about governance should be kept out of the corridors of power. The NPP must rid itself of Nana Akufo-Addo-ism and the tendencies of recruiting people on social media and paying them 100 cedis a month so that they can go and insult your decision-makers that they are supposed to be learning from.”

Professor Ransford Gyampo remains resolute in his stance, dismissing the allegations against him as baseless and politically motivated.
He insisted that the NPP’s efforts to discredit him for causing their 2024 electoral defeat will not succeed, as he is committed to serving with integrity. His fiery response signals that he is ready to take on his critics while maintaining his focus on governance.
