The New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Koduah has rallyied support for the ruling party ahead of the 2024 general elections at the official launch of its manifesto in Takoradi in the Western Region.
The event, held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, saw a gathering of top party officials, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is also the party’s presidential candidate for the upcoming elections, and other party stalwarts.
In a spirited address, NPP General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Koduah, highlighted the historical significance of the occasion and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to setting the pace in Ghanaian politics.
“Today is a very important day in the annals of our party calendar. After successfully making history and proving doubters wrong by electing a Northerner and a Muslim presidential candidate, we are again setting the pace by being the first to launch our manifesto for the 2024 election.”

Lawyer Frimpong Koduah’s speech was a blend of pride and anticipation as he drew comparisons between the NPP and its political rivals. He pointed out that the NPP’s early manifesto launch would inevitably set the standard for others to follow.
“I am not surprised at all because even in exams, students who don’t prepare always want the good ones to start so they can copy them. So I will not be surprised that people will be copying our manifesto because they are waiting for us, the good ones, to start”.

Reflecting on a recent encounter during his journey to Takoradi, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Koduah shared a touching story about a young lady named Afiba, whom he met in Gomoa Central in the Central Region.
According to him, Afiba, a beneficiary of the NPP’s flagship Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, expressed her gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to pursue secondary and university education.
However, Lawyer Frimpong Koduah stated that Afigba’s message to the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Bawumia, was one of concern about job creation for the youth who have benefited from this policy.
“Afiba says that she’s completing university this year, and she wants to know how our manifesto will create jobs for her and other youth who have benefited from free senior high school”, Lawyer Justin Frimpong stated.
Lawyer Frimpong Koduah assured Afiba and all young Ghanaians that Dr Bawumia would provide concrete solutions to their concerns, reinforcing his belief in Dr Bawumia’s capacity to lead the nation effectively.
Critique of Leadership Styles
In a pointed critique of leadership styles, the New Patriotic Party General Secretary distinguished between different types of leaders, implicitly drawing a contrast between Dr. Bawumia and his political opponents.
“A prominent man once told me that there are three kinds of leaders: an ordinary leader, an exceptional leader, and an incompetent leader,” he explained.
Lawyer Frimpong Koduah described an ordinary leader as one who acknowledges challenges but lacks solutions, while an incompetent leader fails to even recognize problems and dismisses the concerns of the people with insensitive remarks.
In contrast, Lawyer Justin Koduah praised Dr Bawumia as an exceptional leader who not only acknowledges the challenges facing the country but also actively seeks and implements solutions, citing examples such as the introduction of digitization initiatives, medical drone deliveries, and the gold-for-oil policy.
“Certainly, Dr. Bawumia is an exceptional leader,” Koduah affirmed, leaving little doubt about where he believes Ghanaians should place their trust in the upcoming elections.
In concluding his remarks, the New Patriotic Party General Secretary, Lawyer Justin Frimpong Koduah urged Ghanaians to choose a leader who can be held accountable after four years in office, rather than one who exits without scrutiny.
“With Dr. Bawumia, Ghanaians will have the chance to evaluate his administration after four years and decide whether to renew his mandate or not,” he emphasized.
Lawyer Frimpong Koduah ended his address with a call for divine blessings upon the nation and the NPP, urging Ghanaians to rally behind the party’s candidate in the forthcoming elections.
