Three Nigerian comedians in Imo State, who were thought to have been eating their excreta in a trending video, have denied doing so, as they disclosed that they were only making a comedy skit.
Great Egbuchulam, Solomon Mbata, and Arinze Mbah, aged 21, 20, and 21, respectively, debunked the video reports while speaking in an interview. They denied having anything to do with internet fraud, adding that an anonymous passerby who completely misunderstood their actions recorded the video, causing it to go viral on social media.
Egbuchulam, popularly known as ‘Clean-Mumu’, and Mbata, popularly known as ‘Baggy_Universe’, identified themselves to be content creators and members of a Comedy crew known as ‘Funny Embassy’.
That notwithstanding, Mbah, popularly known as ‘Dat_Skirtboi’, admitted that the video, even though was “irritating”, was made to portray the ills of society and the inordinate quest of today’s youths to make quick money. He called on the youth to desist from internet fraud and money rituals, but rather, work hard and align with legitimate money-making methods.
“We were not eating excreta, just as many persons believe but, we were portraying the extent to which many persons, especially youths, have gone in a bid to acquire wealth”.
Mbah
Mbata adding his voice to the issue advised youths to avoid the lure of seeking wealth through diabolic means as the consequences outweighed the possible gains.
Also speaking, Egbuchulam advised youths to learn skills to fend for themselves, noting that this would help distract them from negative thoughts. He, however, called on the Federal government to introduce more youth-friendly poverty alleviation initiatives, noting that hardship could lead young persons into money rituals and internet fraud.
“Government cannot afford to overlook the concerns of the youth because the pressure is high on them, from friends and family. The government intervention will reduce such vices to the barest minimum”.
Egbuchulam
Reacting to the viral video, Police Public Relations Officer in Imo, Michael Abattam, disclosed that he was unaware of the trending video but promised to investigate the matter.
In the said viral video, Egbuchulam and Mbata were seen carrying a potty to a popular junction in Nigeria where they pulled their trousers, showed their bare butt, and began to ‘excrete’ in the potty.
Mbata who was holding a loaf of bread inserted a piece of the bread in his ‘buttcrack’, ate some of the bread and gave some to his colleague. Meanwhile, Mbah was present to film his colleagues as they carried out the act.

Some people, who observed what was going on suspected the skit makers to be fraudsters and ritualists. They even called for the arrest of the men. However, some also suspected that it could be a skit.
Fraud in Nigeria has been on the rise and the government is doing its best to curb the issue. Recently, the Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, Ossai Ovie Success, accused embattled Instagram celebrity, Hushpuppi, of being a bad influence on Nigerian youths.
Success claimed that Hushpuppi influenced youths into fraud and rituals through his luxurious life.
In a Facebook post titled: ‘Hushpuppi influenced our youths into fraud and rituals’, Success lamented that the fraudster intimidated those making honest income with his huge display of affluence.
“The lifestyle he exhibited on social media made some of our youths consider fraud and ritual which they are regretting. I understand the APC government increased the level of joblessness in our country Nigeria but that is not a justification for crime. A lot of youths who were not contented ended up joining fraud”.
