Samuel Boadu has been appointed as Coach of the Black Satellites. The former Accra Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC coach takes over from Abdul Karim Zito who led Ghana to win gold at the 2021 U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania.
Samuel Boadu coached Accra Hearts of Oak to win its first double in two decades – Premier League and MTN FA Cup titles in the 2020/21 season.
The former Prestea Mine Stars, Ghapoha FC and Berekum Arsenal midfielder will be assisted by Desmond Offei – a 35-year-old UEFA A (Level 4) Licensed Professional football coach. Desmond is a former U-18 Head Coach and U-21 coach at Royal Antwerp FC. Desmond Offei is also a former Lokeren U21 and Lusitano SAD Head Coach.
The other Assistant Coach is Salifu Fatawu – a former FC Tanga and Swedru All Blacks coach who previously worked under Karim Zito to win gold in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania in 2021.
Meanwhile, former Black Stars goalkeeper, Fatawu Dauda, has also been drafted in as goalkeepers Coach for the Black Satellites. He played for Okwaku United, AshantiGold SC, Orlando Pirates, Chippa United, Enyimba FC and Legon Cities. Fatawu featured for Ghana at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2014 and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in 2013, 2015 and 2017 respectively.
The current technical team’s immediate assignment is to lead Ghana to the 2023 African Games slated for Accra in August next year.
Karim Zito, Laryea Kingson Take Charge of Black Starlets
Just like the U-20, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) also constituted a new technical team for the U-17 team.
Abdul Karim Zito, Laryea Kingson and Jacob Nettey will steer the affairs of the national male U-17 team, otherwise known as Black Starlets for the next one year.

Karim Zito – a gold medallist at the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations will now be assisted by Laryea Kingson and Jacob Nettey. Abdul Karim Zito formerly played for GIHOC Stars, Juantex FC, Asante Kotoko and Kumapim Stars in a career that spanned two and half decades.
Karim Zito is also a former coach of Asante Kotoko, Accra Hearts of Oak, Feyenoord Academy (WAFA), King Faisal and Kwaebibirem FC.

Laryea Kingson is a former Ghanaian International who won 42 caps for the Black Stars and played in two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments in 2006 and 2008.
Jacob Nettey is also a former captain of Accra Hearts of Oak who led them to the famous CAF Champions League glory in 2000. Jacob featured for the Black Stars during the Africa Cup of Nations in 2000, co-hosted by Ghana and Nigeria and is a member of the Ghanaian squad at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta – USA.
Jacob Nettey won six Premier League titles and three FA Cup trophies whiles playing for Accra Hearts of Oak.
