Ghanaian Singer and rapper, Emmanuel Andrews Sammini popular known Samini has stated that the indscipline in the high and low places in government must be checked.
He expressed dissapointment in the country’s dire economic situation, criticising President Akufo-Addo for the difficulties.
In a social media post to President Nana Akuffo Addo , Samini indicated that he supported the President to bring change and stability because he believed in his vision and his concept of change but with two years to go, his soul bleeds.
“I believed in his vision and his concept of change but with two years to go, my soul bleeds. Our investements wash away daily as the dollar openly whips our cedi.”
Samini
He added that Ghanaians are crying and cannot pretend that all is well as cost of living keeps increasing on daily basis.
According to Samini, Ghana must work again as the country has been blessed with the ability to stare difficulties right in the face.
Samini in his post asked, Where is the Akuffo Addo who begged us for the mandate?
However, Samini urged Ghanaians to keep their faith and pray for the nation.
“We go keep hope alive and continue to soldier on. What is man without hope? We can only continue to pray for a better Ghana.”
Samini
Samini has been a loyal supporter of President Akuffo Addo, especially during his re-election in the 2020 election.
Samini made songs and accompanied the President on some of his campaign trips.
Ghana’s Economic Crises
Samini’s lamentations follow the rapid depreciation of the cedi in the past months with a dollar now selling for almost GH¢15. The Cedi has been struggling against the major trading currencies especially the Dollar.
Inflation is in 37.2% and fuel prices skyrocket with transport unions saying fares will go up.
Ghanaians have watched the prices of foodstuffs and fares go up which has caused a high cost of living.
Samini joins other celebrities who supported and campaigned for the National Patriotic Party to win the past general elections as they advocate for better living standards for Ghanaians.
Yvonne Nelson and Prince David Osei who are both media personalities and Movie makers have also lamentated over the bad economy and high cost of living in the Country.
