Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak has stated that the recently held conference in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, brought Ukraine closer to implementing President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Peace plan.
Yermak noted that the overwhelming majority of partners clearly emphasized the need for Russian troops to withdraw from Ukraine’s territory.
“With each step, the number of countries that unconditionally respect Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity, sovereignty and are ready to work on a part or the whole of the Peace Formula is growing.”

“And the isolation of Russia is growing as well,” Yermak added.
According to Yermak, the implementation of Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula is part of Ukraine’s victory strategy.
Stating that the meeting in Jeddah will go down in history, Yermak asserted, “We are the ones keeping this initiative today, and I am very pleased that more and more countries support us in this.”
Saudi Arabia hosted a conference in Jeddah summit to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine. Representatives from about 40 countries including China, India, the U.S and Ukraine took part. The summit ended on Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Russia, however, was not invited.
Yermak called the participation of the Chinese representative in the discussions important and noted that it was made possible due to the great work done by representatives of Ukraine and partners from Saudi Arabia.
“The representative of China took an active part in the conversations and expressed his opinion. The main thing we heard from the Chinese representative is that China is ready to continue participating in this format.”

Yermak divulged that the participants of the meeting in Jeddah agreed to continue working in this format, so it will only expand.
He added that things are being put in place for a Global Peace Summit to be held.
“We will continue to work on the preparation and holding of the Global Peace Summit, after which we will start working on the implementation of each of the ten points. Of course, including the point that will legally enshrine the end of this war.”

Implementation Of Ukraine Peace Formula Requires Restoration Of Respect For The UN Charter And International Law
Commenting on the Peace Formula, the Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak averred that its implementation “is the restoration of respect for the UN Charter and international law which was destroyed by Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.”
He noted that the Ukrainian side formed a common vision for each of the ten points of President Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula which reflects the positions of the majority of countries participating in the implementation of Ukraine’s peace initiative.
Zelenskyy’s peace plan entails but is not limited to the Withdrawal of Russian troops and the cessation of hostilities, the restoration of Ukraine’s state borders with Russia, Justice, including the establishment of a special tribunal to prosecute Russian war crimes and a Confirmation of the war’s end, including a document signed by the involved parties.
The plan also calls for the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and Russia reaffirming it according to the UN Charter.
Yermak stressed that the Peace Formula was built precisely on the key principles of the UN Charter and international law, as well as on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries within their internationally recognized borders.
He also made mention of further practical steps to implement the Peace Formula.
“We will continue our work to elaborate the agenda, the documents, conclusions, and agreements we envisage for the implementation of each of the ten points of the Formula,” he stressed.
