Kremlin Spokesman, Dmitry Peskov has stated that documents signed at the NATO summit in the United States show that the West is not supporting a dialogue.
“We see that our opponents in Europe and in the United States are not in favor of a dialogue,” Peskov noted.
“Judging by the documents signed at the NATO summit, they are not supporters of peace,” the Kremlin spokesman said, adding that “the North Atlantic Alliance is an instrument for confrontation and not a tool for security provision.”
Peskov told Russian news agencies that the nation is planning ‘response measures’ to contain the “very serious threat” from NATO.
He added that NATO was now “fully involved in the conflict over Ukraine.”
Peskov also pointed out that India was fully sharing Russia’s stance on its readiness to launch a dialogue on the conflict settlement.
“India advocates for peace, India is in the support of a dialogue. It fully complies with our vision [of the situation], with our approach. We are also supporting peace and we are in favor of a dialogue.”

Earlier this week, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi paid a two-day official visit to the Russian capital of Moscow.
He held substantive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, first at the Russian leader’s residence in Novo-Ogaryovo and then in the Kremlin.
Also, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman, Dmitry Medvedev denounced NATO’s summit promise to grant eventual membership to Ukraine.
The Russian politician commented on the Washington Summit Declaration, specifically on the paragraph reading: “We will continue to support it [Ukraine] on its irreversible path to full Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership.”
Medvedev said that Moscow needs to ramp up efforts to keep Ukraine out of the North Atlantic Alliance.
“One thing is for certain. We must do all we can to make sure that Ukraine’s ‘irreversible path’ to NATO ends in the demise of either Ukraine or NATO. Or – even better – both.”

Turkey Warns Against NATO-Russia Conflict
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned against NATO-Russia conflict.
“The possibility of a direct conflict between NATO and Russia is undoubtedly worrying,” Erdogan noted.
He added, “Any steps that could lead to this outcome should be consciously avoided.”
“We do not think that the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is an alternative to Nato,” Erdoğan said
On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban said on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Alliance’s summit in Washington, that NATO’s role in the Ukraine conflict is increasing, which is perilous and even irresponsible.
“NATO was established 75 years ago with the goal of protecting the security of its members. Today, however, it seems to be moving away from its original purpose, behaving more and more like a war organization,” the Prime Minister said in a video posted on his X profile.
“One of the signs of this is that NATO is taking an increasingly active role in the Russian-Ukrainian war. In our opinion, this is dangerous and even irresponsible because no one can see how this will end or where we will end up.”
Viktor Orban
Orban said that he “will argue that NATO should return to its original spirit.”
He added that the alliance “should not win the wars going on around it, but the peace.”
Orban reiterated that Hungary would not participate in the NATO-Ukraine mission, but would fully comply with its obligations to the allies.
