With just 8 days to go until Election Day, U.S President Joe Biden has cast his early vote at a polling station in Delaware.
He arrived at the polling station near his home with a full entourage of aides, members of the US Secret Service and the traveling press.
However, he stood in line with other voters for nearly 40 minutes before casting his ballot.
Opting to take his place in line, conversing with voters as he waits, the commander-in-chief presented himself as a man of the people.
As Biden voted behind a black drape, some first-time voters were announced, and the room erupted in cheers for them.
It was supposed to be Biden’s name on that ballot only a few months ago but he opted to abandon his reelection bid and leave the presidential race, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination.
Asked after he voted whether the moment was bittersweet for him, the U.S President responded that it was “just sweet.”
He reiterated his belief that Vice President Kamala Harris would win the election.
Biden Slams Trump’s Rally At Madison Square Garden

Speaking outside a polling station just after voting, U.S President Joe Biden slammed former President Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden in New York on Sunday, while emphasizing the importance of the election.
“It’s embarrassing, it’s just simply embarrassing. It’s beneath any President, but that’s what we’re getting used to. That’s why this election is so important.
“Most of the presidential scholars I’ve spoken to talk about the single most consequential thing about a President is character and he puts that in question every time he opens his mouth.”

The comments came moments after Vice President Kamala Harris said Trump’s event was “intended to divide our country.”
Also, Biden on Monday called Elon Musk’s $1 million giveaways to registered voters in swing states “totally inappropriate,” but didn’t weigh in on whether or not they were illegal.
Musk announced earlier this month that he would give away $1m each day until election day to someone who signs his online petition supporting the US constitution. Numerous people have received money, according to reports.
Musk, who has thrown his support behind former President Donald Trump and is spending millions of dollars supporting his candidacy, publicized the $1 million prize by his Political Action Committee (PAC) aiming to increase voter registrations in hotly contested states.
The District Attorney’s office in Philadelphia filed a lawsuit seeking to shut down billionaire Elon Musk’s controversial $1m giveaways to voters in Pennsylvania and other swing states.
The move by Larry Krasner, the city’s District Attorney, follows warnings from the justice department that the handouts by the prominent Trump acolyte, and founder of Tesla and SpaceX, might violate federal election laws. “America PAC and Elon Musk are running an illegal lottery in Philadelphia (as well as throughout Pennsylvania),” Krasner said in a statement.
“They were lulling Philadelphia citizens – and others in the Commonwealth (and other swing states in the upcoming election) – to give up their personal identifying information and make a political pledge in exchange for the chance to win $1m. That is a lottery.”
