10% Reduction in Transport Fares Effective 1st August

Transportation fares have been reduced by ten per cent effective 1st August 2020.  In a release issued by the Road Transport Operators today, 28th July 2020, the 15 per cent increase in public transport fares which took effect on 11th July 2020 has been adjusted downward to five per cent following the recent update by the president on Sunday.

According to the statement, the new directive is to accommodate for the operational loses incurred during the period of the lockdown and social distancing protocols.

It further admonished its members to comply with the revised fares and post same at their loading terminals so as to avoid confrontation with the travelling public.

The statement further noted that all safety protocols on COVID-19 should be adhered to.
