  • The video has been received well by the public as the governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu reacted to the video and also said he wants to meet the boy.
  • The president of the Combat Domestic Violence and Abuse Foundation, Chief Dozie Kaidi Obiaku has expressed his desire to make the young boy their calm down ambassador.

Don’t take No for an answer

The viral video which has created a buzz on the internet shows a Nigerian child negotiating hard with his angry mum who wants to spank him for being naughty.

It is typical of an African parent to spank a child when he or she becomes mischievous as the belief is that to spare the rod, is to spoil the child.

The young boy can be seen trying to undo the situation by repeatedly telling the mum to calm down.

“Mummy calm Down, Don’t be angry,” He says.

The mum in yourba dialect tells him “why is it that you always take what does not belong to you” and insisit that he must bear the punishment for being naughty.

The child will not back down this time he his gesturing with his hands and buying time using every skills in the book to sway his mum from using the rod.

At a point the child even sits on the sofa when describing how the mum should stay calm and not go irate.

The hilarious video has generated lots of engagement on the internet and many have been in awe of the young boy, whose negotiation skills can’t be taught in Havard.

In reacting to the video, the president of the Combat Domestic Violence and Abuse Foundation, Chief Dozie Kaidi Obiaku has expressed his desire to make the young boy their calm down ambassador.

Big mummy eventually succumbed to the professional negotiator. As the wiz kid could be seen in another video with his dad looking like he just closed a Multi-Billion Dollar Deal.

Mummy calm down is going to be trending for days now. Wont be surprised if its turned into a hit sensation on the radio. Fingers crossed!
