Oppong Nkrumah had no choice than to defend his Chief even if it meant exposing Serwa Amihere's ignorance on Ice.

Most media houses allow presenters to do the work of a journalist which is not right. It might work for some, but not in all cases

What seemed like friendly banters between a charming journalist by name Serwah Amihere and an intelligent information minister Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah may have ended up in a twisted and embarrassing scene.

If this was a stage act, Serwah may have well broken a leg but in this case, the unfortunate event will forever haunt her.

Her crime: she failed to do thorough research into her question or the cool and collected charisma of the information minister may have interfered with her judgement.

Serwah Amihere asked a question which would have rocked the very foundation of Power. Her question questioned the very integrity and ethics of the First stateman in the country and Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah had no choice than to defend his Chief even if it meant exposing Serwa’s ignorance on Ice.

The imbroglio was about the President’s neutrality on corruption in governance and the anyawasu gun violence during the election registration was cited as one of many examples.

Serwa’s naivety or failure to discern the sensitivity of that question may have landed her in hot water. What followed next could be described as a whirlwind uncovering the underwear of the village damsel in an open market.

The simple question asked was this “What’s the recommendation which has not been implemented so we can get into the specifics”

In which the presenter said, “You tell us”, exposing her unpreparedness and ignorance on the subject.

Did she expect the honourable information minister to do her homework for her?

This media goof has sparked like fire in harmattan and has led to trolls on social media. Some have come to her defence and criticized the minister for using her ignorance to avoid the question.

What’s your take?

Do you think Serwaa failed to research properly on the subject in question or was the information minister just too smart for her?
