Portions of the statement reads;

“Teaching and learning during the 2020-2021 academic year will be delivered using a modular mode of instruction for regular undergraduate students. It is expected that the regular 13 weeks of teaching will be delivered over a period of six (6) weeks, per session with, at least, double the contact hours every week.

“Teaching will be delivered primarily on-line, with practical and clinical courses delivered face to face, while observing the required COVID- 19 safety and prevention protocols. The SAKAI Learning Management System will be central in the on-line teaching; training for Lecturers is being organised, in this regard.

“In order to ensure that students have access to on-campus IT resources, the University will be open to students who require access, as well as those who wish to take up accommodation on campus”.

“A number of Schools may, however, have different dates and arrangements because of the peculiar nature of their programmes. Some of these Schools are:

“University of Ghana Medical School; University of Ghana Dental School; School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences; School of Nursing and Midwifery; School of Veterinary Medicine; and School of Law (Post First Degree Law Students).

“Details of arrangements for students in these Schools will be announced in due course. Members of the University community are encouraged to look out for notices giving further details on this matter and to be aware that such notices will be issued only by officials of the University”.

The full text of the academic calendar, according to the statement, will be published by the Academic Affairs Directorate, in due course.
