He made this statement in an interaction with the media, during fumigation and the disinfection of the Koforidua Central Mosque by Zoomlion Ghana Limited.

“I think this is not the first time, they have been spraying several times and this is about the third one now concerning the COVID-19. So, we are praying to the government for how it has helped the Muslim community in this period of hardship with regards to COVID 19. We do not have anything to say than to say thank you. As part of the directives of the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, leading waste management company, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, as part of measures to rid the country of filth and curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) began a nationwide fumigation and disinfection exercise across the nation.

The successful implementation of the first phase started in March this year.

The company commenced the exercise in the Greater Accra Region with the cleaning, disinfection and fumigation of some markets and lorry stations.

In the second phase, the waste management company took the exercise a notch higher with the inclusion of public toilets in markets and lorry stations.

They later proceeded to partner with the Ghana Police Service to launch a nationwide fumigation and disinfection exercise at the National Police Training School in Accra to disinfect and fumigate 1,294 police stations across the country.

The exercise which is in line with the government of Ghana’s fight against Covid-19 was to ensure that all the 1,294 police stations nationwide are disinfected.

The exercise then moved on to various educational institutions in the country as part of the reopening measures for various schools.

Just recently, the fumigation exercise was also seen taking place at the Kotoka International Airport as part of measures to ensure safety, as the airport was being reopened and it is continuing in various institutions.
