Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia begins tour of Greater Accra Region Today

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called on the people of Likpe Traditional Area to to discredit assertions made against the incumbent government of being apathetic to the community.

Speaking at a durbar held in his honor, the Vice President, expressed the party’s motive of being open-minded to all and sundry, describing it further as a party for all.

Dr. Bawumia further noted that, the New Patriotic Party under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo will pursue an all-inclusive development through the implementation of broad-based policies and programmes.

The Vice President, in addressing the chiefs, assured that the vision of a new district for them is with imminent.

“Forget the propaganda that NPP does not care about you. Every one of our policies and programmes touches the life of every Ghanaian for the better. Give Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP another four years, and witness the transformation of lives.

“We are a party that keeps its word. We promised you a new region, and we have delivered. The people of SALL have consistently asked for a new district, and I am reliably informed that the Instrument for the creation of the proposed Guan District will mature in a few days, and your heart’s desire will be met.

According to him, opposing parties vying for a win the upcoming elections “are the ones who do not have your welfare at heart”.

“They are the ones who have left you deprived, under-developed and unemployed all of these decades. They have taken you for granted, and only remember you when it is time to vote. Yet they come to you and tell you the NPP does not care about you. Ignore the propaganda and judge for yourselves who really cares about you.

“You are all witnesses to the massive infrastructure and other developments taking place since Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP came into office. Our aim is inclusive national development. Everything we have done is enjoyed by everybody. Free SHS, One Constituency One Ambulance, payments for National Health Insurance and many more are enjoyed by everyone, not just a few.

“We in NPP believe we have done a lot to earn your trust. You have seen it yourself. It is time to vote NPP. Give Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP another four years, and see even more development”.

On his part, the Paramount Chief of Likpe Traditional Area, Nana Soglo Alloh IV, pledged the support and commitment of the chiefs and people of the four in the area – Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi, and Likpe (SALL) – for the New Patriotic Party.

Nana Alloh said, the government’s rapid response to the community’s essentials were a clear indication of its aptitude in fulfilling its promises.

“I recall when we petitioned the President, through your Excellency the Vice President, for a new Region, and the warm reception we received from the President and the NPP. True to his word, our desire to have a new region, after decades of asking, has been granted by the NPP.

“We have also been asking for a new district to be created for us, and I am reliably informed that this request will be granted in a few days. We continue to see the effect of the policies you have introduced such as Free SHS.

“We appreciate the efforts of the NPP in addressing our infrastructure challenges, especially our roads and schools. We are grateful, and sincerely hope that our gratitude will be expressed in votes in the December 7 elections. The enthusiasm that has met your visit is an indication of our intent.”
