NPP government created more jobs than NDC- Nii Ayikoi Otoo

ayikoi otoo leads ppp

Nii Ayikoi Otoo, Ghana’s High Commissioner to Canada has disclosed that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has an admirable and laudable record in  creation of jobs than the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) ever attained while in office.

According to the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, he elaborated on the appalling performance of the NDC administration in the area of job creation as it consequently ended in the formation of the Unemployed Graduate Association of Ghana.

Conversely, he commended the Akufo-Addo led administration, as it has in its tenure over the last four years executed a more people-oriented and aptly laid out policy which has led to  creation of jobs via various programmes to improve the livelihood of the youth of this country; a phenomenon which led to the dissolution and phasing out of the unemployed association.

“I think the NPP has done better than what we saw under the NDC. We were all in this country when we had graduates deciding to form an association and they cannot get jobs to do. You followed what happened to nurses, many of the nurses were not being recruited.

“They had gone to school, trained and yet they were just sitting down. Look at the number of people since 2012 or the backlog that this government tried to employ. What was the NDC doing at the time?

“How come that at a go, a government was able to bring in about 100,000 NABCO. These were people, [who] otherwise, would have stayed at home [as] they had nothing to do. You had gone in for an IMF and World Bank programme and there has been a freeze on employment in the public sector. How were you going to get them any permanent jobs?

“So you are looking at ways of getting these people out of the difficulties they found themselves. We are talking also about Planting for Food and Jobs programme.”

On the other hand a spokesperson for the NDC presidential candidate, Joyce Mogataru Bawa revealed that the NPP, although promised ahead of the 2016 elections milk and honey, has not been able to deliver a quarter of what they promised.

“If you have done all these why is the president campaigning all-night” to convince Ghanaians to vote for him.

Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has urged Ghanaians to help retire former President John Dramani Mahama from politics.

According to him, this can only be done by voting against John Dramani Mahama on Monday, December 7, 2020.

“Coincidentally, Mr. John Mahama’s four-year experience as ex-President…would come in handy to the nation when he is retired finally by the Ghanaian electorates come December 7, 2020. At such a time when Ghana is still grieving the death of ex-President JJ Rawlings, we all have a duty to straighten ex-President John Dramani Mahama and compel him to magnify his office as ex-President.

“Let’s retire him into the ex-President statesman he is expected to be and make him more responsible in that capacity. Let’s all vote against John Mahama to keep him away from the Presidency for the 3rd time by massively voting a second term for H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo”.
