US President, Donald Trump has used a Christmas message on social media to defend his record in office, striking a defiant tone against political opponents while highlighting what he described as major economic, security and governance achievements.
The post, shared on Christmas Day, combined seasonal greetings with pointed political messaging, as Trump sought to reinforce his narrative that the country is performing strongly under his leadership.
In the message, Trump extended holiday wishes to Americans, including his critics, whom he sharply criticised in characteristically blunt language.
“Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly.”

The message reflected Trump’s continued use of social media as a platform to communicate directly with supporters and frame political debates in his own terms.
Central to Trump’s remarks was a claim that his administration has reversed policies he views as harmful to the nation. Trump asserted that the United States no longer has open borders, arguing that immigration enforcement has been strengthened.
He also reiterated positions that have featured prominently in his political messaging, including opposition to transgender participation in women’s sports. “We no longer have Open Borders, Men in Women’s Sports, Transgender for Everyone, or Weak Law Enforcement,” Trump noted.
These issues have been recurring themes in Trump’s public statements and continue to resonate strongly with his political base.
Trump devoted significant attention to economic indicators, portraying the United States as being in a position of exceptional strength. He pointed to what he called a “Record Stock Market and 401K’s,” suggesting that Americans’ financial security has improved under his leadership.
Additionally, Trump claimed that crime levels were at their lowest in decades, though crime statistics have been a subject of ongoing debate among analysts and policymakers.
On inflation, Trump asserted that price pressures were no longer a concern, stating flatly that there was “no inflation.” He further highlighted economic growth figures, saying the country recorded a “4.3 GDP,” which he described as two percentage points higher than expected.
While the administration has frequently cited economic growth as evidence of policy success, economists have differed on the sustainability and broader implications of such figures.
Trump Defends Tariffs

Trade policy featured prominently in Trump’s message, with Trump again defending his use of tariffs. He claimed that tariffs had generated trillions of dollars in growth and prosperity for the United States, a position he has consistently maintained despite criticism from some business groups and economists who argue that tariffs can increase costs for consumers and disrupt global supply chains.
Trump, however, framed tariffs as a tool that has strengthened the domestic economy and enhanced the country’s negotiating power.
Moreso, Trump described the United States as having the strongest national security it has ever had, linking this to increased defence spending and a more assertive foreign policy stance.
He also argued that the country has regained international respect, suggesting that America’s standing on the global stage has improved significantly during his tenure. “We are respected again, perhaps like never before,” he said.
The message concluded on a patriotic and religious note, with Trump saying, “God Bless America!!!”
Trump’s Christmas message comes at a time when his leadership and policy record remain the subject of intense scrutiny both domestically and internationally.
Supporters see his rhetoric as a sign of strength and conviction, while critics view it as inflammatory and dismissive of complex policy challenges.
Nonetheless, Trump’s use of direct, unfiltered communication remains a defining feature of his presidency and a central element of how he seeks to shape public perception of his achievements.
