Ghanaian award-winning artiste, Emmanuel Kofi Botchwey, better known as Kwaw Kese, has disclosed that it is up to his fans to decide if he will collaborate with Sarkodie.
The ‘6:40’ hitmaker recently made assertions on-air about Sarkodie, bemoaning that on several occasions, he has tried to reach the rapper to collaborate with him, but Sarkodie has repeatedly rejected his request.
Speaking in an interview with a radio station based in Accra, ‘Abodam’, as he is popularly known, revealed that he has resolved issues between Sarkodie and himself and also assured fans that, if they are dying to see a collaboration from him and Sarkodie, he is ready for it.
“We’ve already spoken, that is why I don’t want to hit about it anymore. I say, me and him, we get the vibe. The level we dey right now, is the fans who decide the song. Yesterday ‘Skonti’ [the musician] posted a song that is about to drop and the fans were quoting who should be featured. He was quoted a lot of times. So the fans always want us to do something. When it’s the time we will do it”.
The ‘Dondo’ crooner affirmed that the songs he makes with Sarkodie are different from all other songs from the superstar rapper. He further asserted that there is a vibrant chemistry between the two of them, which many are not aware of.
“Any time I and Sark are on a track, it’s different from all other tracks he makes. You can check, from ‘Yakubu’ to ‘Dondo’. We have some chemistry, but people don’t know that.”
Speaking on the murder of his former manager, Fennec Okyere, who was found dead at his private residence at Manet Gardens in Accra, March 2014, Kwaw Kese lamented that the way the police handled the murder case was woeful.
“It feels bad to come under a system where the laws don’t work the way we want it to work for us”.
He said “We needed answers. We still need answers. We are not getting answers. The police say the case was closed and I think they could have gone further into the case”.
He also revealed that he believes the person responsible for the murder of his former manager is still walking free and he demanded that justice be served.
“Somebody did it, and the person is still out there … I don’t know who the person is, but we know he did that, and for that person to be walking freely, we don’t know what he will do to another person. So, he has to be fished out”.
In the same vein, the Mad Time Entertainment boss recalled his love life and revealed that his first heartbreak, which came in senior high school, made him cry.
He also said ‘Love and Affection’, one of the songs on his Victory album, featuring Black Prophet, talks about his loves and losses.
“You can listen to ‘Love and Affection’: it talks about my love life, the love side of the madness, a real thug cries. That was a thug cry. My first heartbreak, I think that was in SHS. It was hard”.
Kwaw Kese also advised men to stick to one woman to stay focused in life.
“You know say, one thing be say, if you stick to one woman, you don’t spend a lot, You know, you don’t waste your time, you don’t stress a lot. So get that special one and treat her good.”
