The Grandpapa of Ghanaian hiplife music, Reggie Rockstone has said it’s childish for social media critics to troll Sarkordie, for using the term ‘ChukuChaka’ in his verse on Khaligraph Jones’ ‘Wavy’ song.

He made this known during an interview session on an Accra based radio station.

The Rap Legend intimated that he was astonished to hear and read tweets of Ghanaians trolling Sarkodie who adopted the word ‘ChukuChaka’ in his rap verse.

Reggie commended Sarkodie’s rap prowess and added that he is someone who is mindful of the things he says because he has a brand image to keep.

“You should not bother yourself about any of these things. It’s called Ghanaian pettiness, and it’s childish. As I said, Sark is very responsible lyrically and always has been.

“He is one of the few artists who really pays attention to their brand. So, I will like to believe that Sark will not say things that are politically incorrect or go astray lyrically”.

Speaking on the trolls that ‘ChukuChaka’ was too local for Sarkodie to use in an international collaboration, Reggie lamented that it is quite embarrassing the kind of attitude some Ghanaians have and further chided them.

He further related the situation to his ‘waakye’ business, citing how people preferred to refer to his ‘waakye’ as low class.

“Jesus Christ, this is the level of the pettiness of Ghanaians and I’m embarrassed for that, it’s really bad. We should be ashamed of ourselves.

“This is the same thing that happened when I started my waakye business, this is their food but Ghanaians felt waakye was too local so they will buy fried rice and Pizza”.

Speaking about Reggie Rockstone’s waakye business, it can be recalled that in June 2020, he disclosed that he and his wife are not exactly mad about COVID-19, as it has brought them huge success in their waakye business.

He made this confession during a virtual zoom interview on Y-Dialogues with YFM hosts, Akosua Hanson and NY DJ, discussing ‘100days of COVID in Ghana: Learnings in the entertainment industry’.

“Everything went the other way. We started to shine in COVID times. COVID or not, people ‘gotta’ eat and I happen to have the bomb waakye that everyone was on when we were up and running so now that everybody was home, they missed us”.

He revealed that a certain person was trying to troll his waakye business but that rather made it viral and has since made his boom.

“Somebody made a comment trying to troll me. It went viral, my wife and I jumped on it and we just started to rise. Now, it’s just Rockz Waakye all day so for us, COVID is a whole different vibe”.

He revealed that they get to package about six hundred packs of waakye in a day, thus, COVID-19 has brought about a boost in their waakye business and he and his wife are not in the least bit mad at the pandemic.

However, for hitting him and everyone else, he commented that he wants COVID-19 out of the way so that people’s lives can go back to normal.
